Neighbor to Neighbor (formerly Love Knows No Bounds) is a volunteer-run non-profit that collects and delivers good quality donated beds and furniture, and performs critical home repairs.Our furniture redistribution, repair programs, and special one-day projects serve low-income residents of Tompkins County. Both programs are run entirely through assistance from volunteers in our community.Due to the long waiting list for furniture, only agencies can make referrals for furniture. * Provides 30 days of free self-storage at U-Haul-owned and operated facilities. * Rochester Institute of Technology and University of Rochester students have access to CollegeBoxes which delivers packing supplies to their dorm and picks up and ships boxes to storage facility or home.

SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR VETERAN FAMILIES (SSVF) | CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF ONONDAGA COUNTY

Provides supportive services to very low income Veterans and their families who are homeless or are in danger of losing their homes. Services include outreach, case management, and assistance obtaining VA and other benefits. Provides time-limited payments to third parties, such as landlords, utility companies, moving and storage companies, and child care providers, if those payments can help Veteran families stay in or obtain permanent, sustainable housing.

Hired Hands: full-service intrastate moves and trained labor to help with portions of individual moves. Cornell's preferred vendor for local and departmental moves. CollegeTown Student Services: shipping, passport photos and Shortline bus ticket sales. Big Red Shipping and Storage: stores boxes and ships items by UPS. Campus Promotions: marketing and advertising business connecting local and national organizations with Cornell and Ithaca College student markets. Cornellian Yearbook: produces Cornell's official yearbook. SAI Properties: owns and operates prime Collegetown real estate, with tenants including: Collegetown Bagels, Bear Necessities, Rulloff's, Wilson Farms Groceries, Cornell University and the Bike Rack.

TEMPORARY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (TANF)/TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE | ROCKLAND COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES (DSS)

Variety of federal and state cash assistance programs including but not limited to temporary assistance and employment. Evaluates and processes families and individuals who demonstrate the need for financial assistance. Regularly re-determines eligibility and makes case adjustments reflecting changes in the circumstances of the household.

PROVISION OF FURNITURE HOUSEHOLD GOODS MOVING AND STORAGE SERVICE | HOPE INITIATIVES

* Provides individuals and families who have active cases with the Monroe County DHS with furniture, used appliances, moving and delivery at no cost. Referral from other agency Participants must have a voucher from DHS* Provides the general public, including private households with furniture, used appliances, moving and delivery at a lower cost than market rate.* Manufactures furniture that is distributed as part of its services, including sofas, dining tables/chairs, mattresses, dressers, steel bed frames, and cabinetry.* Provides churches and businesses with a "charity package" program to help those in need. Charity packages include a dining set (table & chairs), a dresser, a full/twin steel bed frame with mattress, a sofa and linen bundle, as well as delivery within five days or less.

Emergency Assistance - ECDSS

Assists eligible individuals in a crisis by issuing one-time, non-recurring payments to meet emergency situations. The unit may assist with security agreements to landlords, extermination fees, moving or storage expenses, and utility arrears payments to avoid shut-offs or to restore service. Financial assistance is made in the form of a loan for utility shut-off, evictions, moving/storage expenses, property repair, rental assistance, mortgage assistance, and foreclosure. A security agreement is provided to landlords instead of a security deposit. Emergency and immediate needs assisted include: - Shelter Arrears - Utility Arrears - Security Agreements - Moving Assistance / Storage Assistance - Water Arrears (only for clients who are in danger of having their water shut off) - Stoves/Fridges/Household Establishments of Furniture (for Households not receiving Temporary Assistance) - Essential Property Repair for Homeowners (pending a health evaluation/inspection to confirm that the issue in need of repair poses a hazard to the residents' health) - Extermination - Grants of Assistance for Guide Dogs - Enhanced Shelter Allowance Determination for Temporary Assistance Recipients - SSI Check Replacement
