Provides direct cash grants of up to one month for mortgage or rent for individuals who may run into an emergency situation that has left them financially strapped. PLEASE NOTE: Funding is limited and therefore is based on emergency situation and eligibility criteria.

This fund is to help those individuals who are normally self-sufficient and able to take of their own needs, but are unable to do so when a sudden financial emergency arises. Assistance available on a one time basis.

The Town of Babylon (Town) is making CDBG-CV funds available for low to moderate income Town of Babylon residents with mortgage arrears incurred due to a COVID-19 related loss of income. The Long Island Housing Partnership (LIHP) will administer the program. The aggregate amount of arrears payable under the Program cannot exceed $50,000 per household. No more than six consecutive monthly payments may be made. The first payment will be inclusive of all eligible accrued arrears subject to the cap.

Provides assistance to working individuals and families to prevent eviction or foreclosure as well as assistance for homeless individuals and families to obtain permanent housing after all other community resources have been utilized.

Low-interest loans for down payments, closing costs, repairs, and help securing USDA loans for purchases/repairs. Currently, amounts up to $10,000 may be borrowed starting at 3.5%, repayable over a period of up to 10 years. Other loan funds may also be available for additional purchase/repair assistance.

Provides emergency relief to help cover expenses such as utility bills, mortgage and rent payments, car payments and repairs, auto insurance, home repair, food and household supplies, medical bills and copayments. Also offers Holiday financial assistance.

Provides temporary financial assistance to families and individuals for short-term help while they work toward self-sufficiency, such as Family Assistance, Safety Net Assistance and Emergency Temporary Assistance (homeless, need food, written eviction, need heating during cold weather, utilities are or are about to be shut-off, family violence)

Provides financial assistance for eligible families in various ways: Basic Living Expenses - Rent, mortgage payment and/or utilities, supermarket gift cards, when these bills have become unmanageable after a child's diagnosis and/or a parent must stop working to care for their sick child. Illness-related Expenses - medical co-pays, transportation for treatment, medical equipment, and childcare to keep siblings safe when parents must be with their hospitalized child. End of Life Expenses - will help with funeral arrangements and expenses, and provide bereavement support.

Provides help to low and moderate income residents on the North Fork of Eastern Long Island acquire affordable housing. Services offered are as follows: referral assistance and information; mortgage acquisition and foreclosure assistance; housing rehabilitation assistance; subsidized housing assistance; loan/grant application assistance; advocacy and counseling; fair housing law assistance; health, safety violations and code enforcement; weatherization referrals; utility payment assistance; legal referrals.

Gives families and individuals the opportunity to buy, build, or repair affordable homes located in rural areas. Eligibility for these loans, loan guarantees, and grants is based on income and varies according to the average median income for each area.

Provides affordable home ownership opportunities to families who fall below moderate income levels and are unable to obtain conventional mortgage financing. Eligible applicants can receive up to $20,000 in mortgage assistance.

Provides an emergency, 2 day supply of food one time per month from Community Emergency Food Pantry, and food as needed in the interim from the Outreach Office. Assistance with basic needs, rents and mortgages (when FEMA funds are available) and referrals when utilities are in arrears.

Administers Temporary Assistance including Family Assistance, Safety Net Assistance, SNAP, and childcare assistance. An application for Temporary Assistance is an automatic application for Medical Assistance and SNAP benefits. May be able to assist with rent and mortgage payments, depending on the circumstances. Provides once-only or alternative assistance to applicants, who are low-income and without sufficient resources, in the form of diversion services. May include transportation and work related expense assistance.

Provides temporary financial aid to low income individuals and families for daily necessities.

New York State homeowners struggling to make payments or in a forbearance agreement with their servicer, may qualify for new local or federal assistance. Beware of scams and of companies asking for payment to help with a mortgage. Homeowners with mortgage arrears issues should have the mortgage checked by a qualified NYS professional for free.

Provides financial assistance for veterans (including homeless veterans referred by the PathStone Corporation), active military, and their families for everyday essential living needs (mortgage/rent and utilities). Provides the veteran with up to 4 months' rent (including security deposit), mortgage, and utilities. Does not provide financial assistance for insurance, motel bills, medical, house repairs, non-utility user fees, etc. ##Veteran##

Provides one month's rent or mortgage payment on behalf of a tenant or owner when this will guarantee 30 more days of occupancy.

Assists families and individuals who are in need of cash assistance to meet their needs. Eligibility is determined by several factors including income, resources, and willingness to comply with Agency regulations and requirements. Also will assist individuals with "once only" emergency needs if eligible (i.e. prevent an eviction; prevent a utility shut-off; emergency car repair/car insurance to prevent the loss of employment; etc).
