Provides a grant to veterans and their families for up to 4 months to help meet a basic need, which may include rent, mortgage, and utilities. Grants will be paid directly to those who are owed the funds on behalf of the veteran. ##Veteran##

Administers Temporary Assistance including Family Assistance, Safety Net Assistance, SNAP, Low Income Household Water Assistance Program, and childcare assistance. An application for Temporary Assistance is an automatic application for Medical Assistance and SNAP benefits. May be able to assist with rent and mortgage payments, depending on the circumstances. Provides once-only or alternative assistance to applicants, who are low-income and without sufficient resources, in the form of diversion services. May include transportation and work related expense assistance. Also provides for burial when a Temporary Assistance recipient or other indigent person dies leaving no funds or insurance sufficient to pay the cost and there are no relatives, friends or other persons liable or willing to take responsibility for the burial expense. *Provide direct assistance to low-income individuals and families by providing case management services through a series of assessments. Assistance based on need and includes rent, security deposit, mortgage, utilities (such as gas, electric, heating, water, and sewer), auto insurance and repairs, personal hygiene items, diapers and wipes, furniture, as well as gasoline and bus passes for employment-related services. * Provides information and referrals to the appropriate resources or agencies. * Provides personal financial counseling.

Gives families and individuals the opportunity to buy, build, or repair affordable homes located in rural areas. Eligibility for these loans, loan guarantees, and grants is based on income and varies according to the average median income for each area.

Provides funds to help with utility disconnect notices and with eviction/foreclosure prevention.

Provides assistance to working individuals and families to prevent eviction or foreclosure as well as assistance for homeless individuals and families to obtain permanent housing after all other community resources have been utilized.

The Town of Babylon (Town) is making CDBG-CV funds available for low to moderate income Town of Babylon residents with mortgage arrears incurred due to a COVID-19 related loss of income. The Long Island Housing Partnership (LIHP) will administer the program. The aggregate amount of arrears payable under the Program cannot exceed $50,000 per household. No more than six consecutive monthly payments may be made. The first payment will be inclusive of all eligible accrued arrears subject to the cap.

Provides temporary assistance to low income families who need some assistance till they become financial stable. Services also include financial aid to qualifying individuals and families for food, rent, clothing, shelter, etc. due to a disaster/emergency.

Provides one month's rent or mortgage payment on behalf of a tenant or owner when this will guarantee 30 more days of occupancy.

Assists families and individuals who are in need of cash assistance to meet their needs. Eligibility is determined by several factors including income, resources, and willingness to comply with Agency regulations and requirements. Also will assist individuals with "once only" emergency needs if eligible (i.e. prevent an eviction; prevent a utility shut-off; emergency car repair/car insurance to prevent the loss of employment; etc).

Low-interest loans for down payments, closing costs, repairs, and help securing USDA loans for purchases/repairs. Currently, amounts up to $10,000 may be borrowed starting at 3.5%, repayable over a period of up to 10 years. Other loan funds may also be available for additional purchase/repair assistance.

Provides information workshops with regard to foreclosure prevention and one-on-one counseling for borrowers in foreclosure. Offers assistance in payments of mortgage, utility, property tax and water service. Services include negotionation with lenders, services for loan modifications, budget counseling, and legal services may be provided.

FEMA's Mortgage and Rental Assistance (MRA) Program is designed to cover rent or mortgage payments for those who have suffered a financial hardship as a result of a major disaster declared by the President. Persons suffering financial hardship who are unable to pay their rent or mortgage, and are facing eviction or foreclosure, may be eligible for this program.
