Provides a $150 gift card to ALDI, Price Chopper, or Tops and places a 30-day hold on termination for National Grid customers who are behind on their electric bill. This assistance is available for each customer only once per program year.
The Office for the Aging offers many services for the senior residents of Steuben County including, but not limited to, information and referral, nutrition through congregate meals, advocacy, support groups, transportation services, caregiver services, case management, and the Bone Builders and Senior Meal Programs. Bone Builders and the Senior Dinner Clubs are overseen by Pro Action of Steuben-Yates.

Provides nutritional education sessions for individuals living with HIV as well as group education, and meal planning assistance. Offers food assistance through pantry bags and food vouchers.
Offers one-time emergency food assistance in the form of a $150 grocery store gift card/food voucher to eligible National Grid New York heating customers with a past-due account and a vulnerable household member, such as a disabled person, a child under the age of 18, or a resident over the age of 62. Customers who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits are not eligible for this program. Customers can receive one grant per program year/season. Offers a 30-day hold from shut off for non-payment or collection activity. This program is administered by HeartShare Human Services of New York.
Offers assistance to low income individuals or families in immediate need due to an emergency situation for utility issues, rent payment, food voucher, or other basic needs.
