Offers services of registered dietician, certified dietician/nutritionist and certified diabetes counselor. Provide nutritional counseling in seminars through Women's Health Center and through speaker's bureau. Plants/maintains herb garden on hospital grounds with help of psychiatry patients.

Offers elderly or severely disabled individuals residing at home a day program providing nursing and medical care, case/care management and recreation. Services include access to a variety of medical specialists (dentist, podiatrist, audiologist, therapists), and individualized nursing care for a wide range of medical conditions associated with chronic illness and aging including Alzheimer's, dementia, diabetes and Parkinson's Disease. Program attendance is based on individual needs. Transportation to and from the Center is available.

A recreational program providing two one week camp sessions for children ages 5-10 years with diabetes. The camp is staffed by nurses, a doctor and highly trained camp counselors providing diabetes education. Program limited to 25 children per week.

Provides diabetes education for individuals and their families in Suffolk County Health Centers and in the community. Classes are offered at various locations throughout the county, during day and evening, to promote self-management of diabetes and weight management in efforts to prevent or delay the complications associated with diabetes.

Offers a 12-week Target Fitness Weight Management program for adults with weight management or other health related issues such as Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, or High Cholesterol. Program strives to guide participants to develop research-based skills to facilitate gradual and permanent weight loss through individualized strategies and goals. Registration required.
