Works with area agencies to research and analyze public and private funding sources, analyze RFPs to fit their programs, reviews written proposals, facilitates planning processes and grant applications, holds grant development trainings and consultations and provides strategic planning consultation.

Works with area public health departments, community based organizations, and local businesses to further public health initiatives across 8 counties in the Finger Lake region. Includes building collaborations through strategic planning and alignment. Compiles a regional Community Health Assessment as well as facilitates a healthy eating and food security coalition, early childhood initiatives, substance use and mental health information, and emergency planning.

Provides assistance and guidance to Federal, state and local government agencies and the general public regarding coastal-related problems and activities. Land use, zoning and environmental data and information are assembled, portrayed and analyzed in support of the preparation of management plans and recommendations pertaining to Suffolk County's three major estuaries (the Long Island Sound, Peconic Bay System and the South Shore Bays), numerous harbors and watersheds, fragile shorelines and associated natural habitats and resources. Prepares and assists other County Departments in the preparation of grant applications for funding from Federal and state programs that is used for special studies and project implementation. Offers business development and management assistance for all stages of business ownership. Assistance includes: business plan preparation; marketing assistance; business counseling; strategic business planning; computer training; record-keeping training; tax seminars; and e-commerce workshops.
