Offers The Veteran's Business Program; a service of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) which is a program designed to enable men and women who have served in the Armed Forces to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by owning and operating their own business. Offers a 15 credit certificate program which has as its purpose the successful management of human resources in support of organizational effectiveness. It is designed to provide specialized study of such personnel management activities as work analysis, staffing, training and development, employee appraisal, compensation, enhancement of work environment, and personnel law and labor relations. Raises funds for the charities and organizations that serve the Manhasset community by public contributions from individuals and businesses in Manhasset, and to distribute those funds among participating charitable institutions. The organizations we fund bring relief and hope to our community. Over the years, your donation has: supported programs for children of the working poor, taught job skills to those with learning challenges, reduced senior loneliness, supported families coping with cancer, fed families struggling to make ends meet and raised awareness on mental health issues. The Fund may also, from time to time, distribute monies to non-participating charities on an emergency or special needs basis.

Enforces standards of professional conduct in the professions except medicine. Forty seven professions are regulated such as Acupuncture, Architecture, Engineering, Medical, Dental, Mental Health, Accounting, Social Work, All professional practitioners, and Non-Professions.

Provides financial education, counseling and ongoing support to consumers nationwide, helping them to develop the tools they need to better manage their debt. Counselors offer individual financial analysis, budget counseling, financial goals and guidance. Also offers a debt management program including lower interest rates and payments on credit cards. Bankruptcy and housing counseling are also available.

Breaks the school-to-prison pipeline and reduces disproportionate minority representation in the juvenile justice system via restorative justice, conflict resolution, circles and conferences.

The Healthy Neighborhoods Program (HNP) is a grant-funded program designed to help improve the personal health, safety, and environmental living conditions of residents within Clinton County. HNP is able to do this through health and safety surveys that are conducted with participants of the program. The survey covers 5 main topics: fire safety, lead, indoor air quality, injury prevention, and asthma. Based on the outcome of the survey, and program eligibility, HNP may be able to provide the participant with various safety products as well as health and safety education. Fosters and preserves active and open avenues of communication between the Department and the diverse communities which it serves. In an ongoing effort to identify, understand and solve the contemporary public safety issues facing communities the CRB seeks to build lasting relationships built on trust and mutual respect. As part of its overall mission, CRB supervises the Community Liaison Officers (CLO), the School Resource Officers (SRO), the Recruitment Section and the Police Athletic League (PAL) Officers. The Bureau also coordinates and oversees a variety of outreach initiatives throughout the County, such as Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), Operation Medicine Cabinet, "Unity in the Community", "Vamos a Hablar", "Let’s Talk", "The Ugly Truth", "Coffee With a Cop", "Craft With a Cop", "Teen Gaming", "HERE Truancy", "Barber, Beauty and Books", "Clippers N Cops", and "Impact Truancy". Provides technical assistance by our staff of engineers to small and medium-sized manufacturers and technology-based companies assist entreprenurial enterprises through their manufacturing incubator and business services.

Provides a number of programs and resources to develop and support Ulster County youth, including delinquency prevention and promoting healthy and safe behavior.

Provides technical assistance to agencies and individuals to develop new programs for people who have developmental disabilities.

Provides an array of services to employers, from organizing annual job fairs and informational expos to recruitment assistance. Other services include creating/listing job postings, pre-employment testing, referrals of qualified candidates, pre-screening for specific skills and qualifications, screening for available training subsidies and/or tax credits, and the possible training and upgrading of existing employees.

Provides fund raising for diabetes research.

Provides a variety of on-going and in-service training programs to help teachers develop their professional skills, including technical assistance.

Provides the funding to partner agencies for programs that reflect the mission of United Way to make a difference in the community in the areas of education, income and health.
