Assists the Christian Church on Long Island in the responsible evangelism of troubled youth and their families offering hope through caring relationships and developmental opportunities for the whole person (spiritual, mental, physical, social). Provides 24-hr emergency and recovery assistance to victims of disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes or fires. Trained Red Cross interviewers meet one-on-one with individuals and families to determine their disaster-caused needs and provide emergency assistance as the recovery process begins. Interviewers also inform clients of other community resources and government assistance that may be available.
