The Family Support Program provides support for families and caregivers of adults with severe and persistent mental wellness issues and children with social emotional difficulties.

Provides education, outreach, counseling and supportive services to lebian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTO) youth, up to age 30, and their families. Offers weekly young adult and transgender social support groups, individual and family counseling, free and confidential HIV/STD screening (up to age 45) and referrals to sexual health services. Also provides a Friday night drop-in center, up to age 21, for socializing with peers and drop- in short-term counseling, as needed. Provides social and educational groups for gay, bisexual and queer men (ages 18-45). Offers school-based services to include outreach and individual counseling at targeted schools, gay straight alliance (GSA) coordination and workshops, and workshops on Understanding Sexual Orientation and Understanding Gender. Offers workshops to professionals on working with LGBTO youth and creating safer school.

Offers various forms of education and public awareness through the internet, educational presentations, in-service training, and printed materials in several languages.

Provides education on environmental-related issues, such as ecosystems, conservation, pollution, drinking water concerns, fertilizers, landscaping, population growth's impact, etc. through outreach and online formats.

The Dutchess County Office for the Aging offers a wide variety of services to meet the nutritional needs of persons 60 years and older. Services include congregate meals at OFA Friendship Centers, Home Delivered Meals for homebound older adults, nutrition education and counseling, picnics during the summer, and year-round health promotion events.

The Health Department works with the public and with health care providers to reduce the incidence of West Nile Virus in Orange County.

Provides breast health and breast cancer education. Offers bilingual workshops, attends community events, and provides outreach throughout Long Island. Also offers referrals to free/low cost mammograms for women who are uninsured and/or undocumented.

Provides a child-centered school, with various programs, to educate students in grades K - 8 with special needs. Programs range from intensive, full-day programs to partial therapeutic activities, which integrates academics, social and behavioral competencies. Academically, the emphasis is on reading, writing, and math. Socially and behaviorally programs include activities that teach specific social and behavioral skills with the purpose to address the relationship between behaviors/social issues and academic difficulties.

Offering information, resources, and takeaways on various health topics to help Rockland residents live healthier lives.

Offers information and presentations to the public on various health topics including tobacco and substance abuse prevention, nutrition education, HIV/AIDS prevention, rabies, and injury and safety prevention. Included is providing information prevention and protection from Lyme disease, West Nile virus or Equine Encephalitis, and tracking the number of those infected in order to help prevent or reduce such diseases.

A lending library with books, videos, and information focusing on breast ovarian, and other gynecological cancer, coping, spirituality, wigs and scarves, chemotherapy, radiation, etc.

MHA provides information, training, financial and other support to individuals with autism disorders and their families.

Offers educational programs for professionals and to the public about mood disorders and suicide prevention; promotes policies and legislation that impact suicide and prevention; provides programs and resources for survivors of suicide loss and involves them in the work of the Foundation; provides programs and resources for people with mood disorders and their families, and involves them in the work of the Foundation.

Provides educational and informational programs on MS. Also provides financial assistance, support groups, MS Service Day, scholarships, care management and other support services.

Provides linkages for individuals with brain injuries received prior to age 22 and their families with community-based services and supports including understanding and navigating the current system of available services, accessing Medicaid Waiver Programs if qualified, training family members, service providers, and educators to understand the impact of brain injury and brain injury prevention, and making connections to community support groups about living with a brain injury or caring for an individual with a brain injury. Assistance is also provided to understanding the local school system’s special education process. This program is funded by the Office of Mental Retardation and Development Disabilities (OMRDD).
