Program staff from the department are available upon request to travel throughout Nassau County to conduct presentations and informational forums on the various programs offered by the department. Informational presentations are available for all services provided by the Nassau County Department of Social Services. A membership association for dentists in Suffolk County. Provides referral information to the general public by dental specialty or by geographic location. Offers members educational and informational programs. Mechanisms also exist within the Society for the resolution of disputes between patients and member dentists. Provides a series of community education programs at the hospital in the Spring and Fall of each year. Subjects are related to family and mental health issues.

Provides workshops and seminars on Adolescent Suicide Prevention, Stress Reduction and Crisis Intervention at schools for parents, students and teachers for service groups and community organizations throughout Suffolk County. Provides employees in Nassau County departments, clients, and employees in community-based treatment agencies, as well as students, teachers, parents, and the general public educational programs. Trainers are experienced, knowledgeable, and available to provide information on chemical abuse and many health-related issues. Training services vary according to the audience and the topic. For elementary through high school grades, activities include assembly programs, teacher in-service training, and presentations at parent-teacher association (PTA) meetings. Program series can also be arranged on an individual basis at the request of a school district or for college presentations. Information is shared with the general public through public health fairs, distribution of literature, and in response to special requests. Purpose is to educate the public on the issues of abortion, assisted suicide, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research and human cloning from a pro-life perspective. Provides speakers, educational materials, publishes a monthly newsletter, and lobbies legislators.

Reaches out to a broad range of business, social, and education groups to help them understand and respond to the varied needs of people with disabilities. We provide seminars, conferences, and informal meetings to assist these groups in making their services as accessible and inclusive as possible to every member of our society.
