ACCEPTABLE SUPPLIES (Accepted with prior arrangements, only): Filler paper, marble composition notebooks, one subject spiral notebooks, 1â binders, highlighters, pencils, 2 pocket folders, erasers, and 12â rulers. Those needing school supplies or holiday gifts should contact their child's school nurse or social worker.Volunteer effort to benefit needy elementary school children in Tompkins County and surrounding areas with clothing, school supplies and toys.Members of the Cornell community and the general public can participate in either or both Elf programs: winter holiday: children in greatest need are identified by their schools. Profile sheets about each child are distributed to individuals, families or groups who purchase, wrap and deliver gifts to the child's school. To protect the families' anonymity, the school arranges for distributing the gits. backpack: new backpacks and school supplies from a list are purchased during the summer. Filled backpacks are delivered to schools before school starts.To help the Elves: become a sponsor and purchase items for the programs donate by sending a check to The Elves c/o Bill Alberta, 751 Elm Street Ext.Ithaca, NY 14850. All donations go directly toward buying items for the program.

Financial assistance determined on case-by-case basis and may available for security deposits, emergency prescriptions, heating assistance and utilities to avoid shut-off. Offers budget counseling.
