CORNELL UNIVERSITY (CU) - ELVES: WINTER HOLIDAY AND SUMMER BACKPACK PROGRAMS | CORNELL UNIVERSITY (CU)

THIS IS A VOLUNTEER/DONATIONS PROGRAM. Those needing school supplies or holiday gifts should contact their child's school nurse or social worker.Volunteer effort to benefit needy elementary school children in Tompkins County and surrounding areas with clothing, school supplies and toys.Members of the Cornell community and the general public can participate in either or both Elf programs: winter holiday: children in greatest need are identified by their schools. Profile sheets about each child are distributed to individuals, families or groups who purchase, wrap and deliver gifts to the child's school. To protect the families' anonymity, the school arranges for distributing the gits. backpack: new backpacks and school supplies from a list are purchased during the summer. Filled backpacks are delivered to schools before school starts.To help the Elves: become a sponsor and purchase items for the programs donate by sending a check to The Elves c/o Bill Alberta, 751 Elm Street Ext.Ithaca, NY 14850. All donations go directly toward buying items for the program.

SPARTAN CLOSET - MAINE-ENDWELL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS | MAINE-ENDWELL CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

Helps eliminate barriers to school success by taking the burden of clothing and appearance/hygiene woes off the high school students' minds.Donations are welcome - drop off new or gently used items to the high school guidance office. Contact the school psychologist for more information.

Little Knights Kloset | Tuscarora Elementary School

Offers gently used clothing for boys and girls size 5T to 14, personal hygiene products and school supplies. Also has available new socks, underwear and swimwear. Accepting donations of all of these items as well as monetary to be used to purchase new items for the Kloset. Donations can be dropped off during normal school hours.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES | SALVATION ARMY - BEACON CORPS

Provides free school supplies to low-income school-aged children in the local community. Also accepts donations of back packs and school supplies.Parents need to bring the school supply list and fill out an application. The salvation army will work toward filling the order through donations. Parents must bring the supply list from the school as early as possible in August before school starts.

STUFF A BUS CAMPAIGN | UNITED WAY OF GREATER OSWEGO COUNTY

Collects donations and provides school supplies for children in Oswego County.

Students can only receive items from the district that they are enrolled in. A copy of your child's 2024-2025 School Report Card will be required for entrance to pick up school supplies. If entering a district for the first time or transferring into a new district, an enrollment letter from that district is required.

Donations may be dropped off at the United Way of Long Island's office at 819 Grand Blvd., Deer Park, from 9am-5pm. This is a donation program only. Volunteers needed to help sort and distribute supplies.

School supplies distributed in August of each year. Event for Poughkeepsie city school district children. ACCEPTABLE SUPPLIES (Accepted with prior arrangements, only): Filler paper, marble composition notebooks, one subject spiral notebooks, 1â binders, highlighters, pencils, 2 pocket folders, erasers, and 12â rulers. CLOTHING ROOM - FAMILY SERVICE ASSOCIATION | FAMILY SERVICE ASSOCIATION

The Clothing Program includes the Clothing Room, where "gently worn" clothing and household goods are recycled. Donations are received from area residents during agency hours. People may choose items for their family members at no charge.FSA works with the Oneonta Clothing Guild as a liaison, to provide new sneakers, new snowpants, and new boots for children in the Oneonta School District.The Back to School Program provides lower-income families with some school supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks, and other items that children need to bring to school in the fall.

Trading Post Community Care Center

Provides a food pantry and community kitchen (currently offering bagged lunches to go). Thrift store offers affordable clothing and household items. Baby Love Program provides diapers, wipes, baby food, and formula twice per month. Giving Tree collects and provides assistance for specific needs including children's coats, baby needs, Christmas gifts, and back to school needs among others.
