Provides a collaborative structure to coordinate the work of community organizations and resources to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters in Broome County, NY.

Provides 24-hr emergency and recovery assistance to victims of disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes or fires. Trained Red Cross interviewers meet one-on-one with individuals and families to determine their disaster-caused needs and provide emergency assistance as the recovery process begins. Interviewers also inform clients of other community resources and government assistance that may be available.

Coordinates the receipt and distribution of disaster related donations.

Neighbor to Neighbor (formerly Love Knows No Bounds) is a volunteer-run non-profit that collects and delivers good quality donated beds and furniture, and performs critical home repairs.Our furniture redistribution, repair programs, and special one-day projects serve low-income residents of Tompkins County. Both programs are run entirely through assistance from volunteers in our community.Due to the long waiting list for furniture, only agencies can make referrals for furniture. Provides financial assistance, casework & recovery planning which includes health, mental health & spiritual care services, for fires and other disasters; provides disaster relief for larger scale disasters such shelter, distribution of supplies and reunification.
