The Building Department is responsible for Building and Construction Permits and enforcement of Building, Fire and Zoning codes. The Building Department enforces all life, building, fire, and zoning codes for all occupancies both commercial and residential construction performed in the Town of Mount Pleasant. The Building Department oversees: life safety, fire safety, environmental issues, landfill issues, property maintenance, zoning determinations, plumbing inspections, blasting determinations, elevator inspections, drainage and retention, and signage.

The Village Engineer enforces building codes and zoning and environmental regulations in Croton-on-Hudson. Their other responsibilities include advising Village Boards and agencies regarding building, zoning, environmental and engineering matters, assisting in developing plans and specifications for capital improvement projects, and overseeing construction within the village.

Crews within each county are responsible for the day-to-day road maintenance and operation of the state roadways within their jurisdiction, including repairing pot holes. Their work includes doing minor road or bridge repairs, removing snow/ice, installing, repairing and replacing signs and traffic lights, repairing guide rail, and mowing grass. The Department also maintains a pot hole helpline for drivers to report pot holes and possible car damage due to the pot holes.

Open workshop where community members have an opportunity to learn bicycle repair and maintenance. Volunteers repair old bicycles and donated bicycles which are then recycled back into the community. Refurbished bicycles are sold at a discount.
