Acts as a policy analysis and advocacy organization for shaping public policies affecting human services throughout New York State. Supports income maintenance, employment, health and nutrition, mental health care, and social services for families, children and the elderly. Informs New York State health and human service organizations on federal, state and regional public policy and legislative issues that affect the agencies and/or their clients.

An outreach program for recipients of mental health services in Niagara County. Consumers are encouraged to become involved in decisions made regarding the services they receive for their illness. A monthly meeting is hosted by the MHA to allow consumers and service providers the opportunity to meet and discuss local planning of services.

Serves to facilitate cooperation between public and private sectors so that there can be joint planning for programs for children and families, stronger advocacy for those families and a mutual agreement on how to fill the gaps in services so that all children in Erie County receive adequate services.

Ithaca Youth Council Ambassadors (IYCA) are a diverse self-directed group of nominated teens with a mission to listen and speak for Youth in Tompkins County. Most schools in Tompkins County have ambassadors representing them. Ambassadors create resources to address youth needs with a focus on civic engagement and peer leadership. Ambassadors meet with local leaders and government bodies to share what they learn and create.IYC Ambassadors meet regularly throughout the school year generally after school. Ithaca Youth Council is offered by Youth Employment Service as part of the Ithaca Youth Bureau.IYC serves teens from all school districts in Tompkins County.

The NYSDDPC Council is comprised of Governor-appointed volunteers. More than 60% of these volunteers must be individuals with developmental disabilities or family members. Other members include NYS State Agency representatives, UCEDD representatives, and representatives of the Protection and Advocacy System. In addition, a small staff of New York State employees supports the efforts of the Council in fulfilling its mission.

Licenses over 800,000 individuals including real estate brokers, notaries, private investigators, and appearance enhancement professionals. Through its licensing and business filing capacities the division promotes business growth while protecting the health, safety, and welfare of all New Yorkers.

Serves as the technical support agency (on behalf of Nassau and Suffolk Counties) for the administration of Ryan White Part A/MAI funds for individuals with HIV/AIDS on Long Island. Provides support to the Planning Council in assessing needs, identifying gaps in services and allocating funds and provides oversight/monitoring of Ryan white Part A contracted agencies funded to provide medical and support services to HIV positive individuals.

Raises money in the community through the efforts of volunteers and invests those resources in programs that help people improve their lives. No direct assistance to individuals.

Administers a committee of human service agency representatives and community volunteers who strive to end child abuse and neglect in Steuben County through communication, public awareness, and family activities. Primary activities include the annual Pinwheels and Promises Campaign in April for National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Strong Kids Safe Kids free family festival each September, an annual Child Abuse Prevention Award, and other activities.

Mobilizes the caring power of the community to help people improve their lives through fundraising initiatives. Funds various grants to support health and human services programs in Chemung and Steuben Counties. UWST does not provide direct financial assistance to individuals. Also leads numerous initiatives within the community to address identified needs.

A planning/granting agency for youth (birth-21 yrs) and families whose primary goal is youth development.

Working in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing.

Works with the town recreation department to develop opportunities for healthy satisfying recreation and leisure activities for residents.

Known as BCADA or Baldwin Community House, implements Too Good For Drugs in the BUFSD elementary schools; sponsors the Community Coalition of Baldwin.
