Works to build Black political, social, and economic power to end racial injustice.

* Provides educational and support programs for the individual living with mental illness and family members. These include: Support groups. Classes and workshops. Helpline. * Provides information about the service delivery system, legislation and community programs and resources. * Offers education in the community presented by individuals and family members with the lived experience of mental illness/health. * Offers special annual events.

Provides training for middle and high school students as youth advocates and leaders, and engage in community-based environmental strategies to reduce youth substance abuse.

Serves as the liaison between the county government and its Asian population. Coordinates resources for the Asian community with the goal of educating, empowering and developing integration initiatives that will foster greater participation in Nassau County’s social, economic, and civic life. Our staff works with the County Executive’s Office and other County agencies on the research, analysis, and implementation of policy to ensure that the Asian community is afforded equal opportunities, meaningful engagement, and access to Nassau County government services. The agency provides language access assistance to constituents seeking information about existing community and/or services related to employment, health, housing, and educational concerns; Organize cultural events to promote the diversity of Nassau County and allow residents to feel included in the fabric of the county; helps promote full participation of Asian-owned businesses in competing for bidding contracts in Nassau County. A coalition to review services for older adults in the community for support group training and development, technical assistance and grandparent buddy program, resource development, advocacy, computer literacy and systems negotiation.

Provides LGBT youth and allies, ages 13-21 with the knowledge, motivation, and skills necessary to make proud and responsible decisions concerning their sexual health.

A group of parents, school staff, business owners, government, etc who work at reducing and eliminating the risk of youth becoming involved with criminal activity, alcohol and drug abuse, and other risky behavior through awareness seminars and counseling.

Counseling is available for senior victims of elder abuse or financial exploitation. Services are confidential and can be offered in the home, virtual or on site. FCA's compassionate, trained staff can provide: accompaniment to court hearings or police interviews, assists with obtaining a court order of protection, assistance resolving and investigating actual or suspected financial exploitation, assist with filing for crime victim compensation, liaison with the justice system to keep you informed, free community presentations on protection against financial exploitation and scams targeting older adults.

Advocates and works to support Gay-Straight Alliances to end anti-gay bias in all schools. Scholarships are also given to students who want to begin a project to promote gay-straight alliance.

A volunteer based organization which provides support and advocacy in the Jewish community by focusing on education and the National Literacy campaign. Helps combat anti-semitism, champions women rights, helps sustain Democratic values and works for progressive change. Provides a wide range of gynecologic/reproductive health care services for adolescents, women and men. Offers family planning, contraception, testing, treatment and counseling for sexually transmitted diseases. Also provides telemedicine, pregnancy, abortion and gender affirming services. Offers sex education and reproductive health advocacy.

Offers transportation for senior citizens through the Dial-A-Ride program within the Town limits for weekly food shopping, monthly banking and medical appointments. Offers Home Aide program which provides light housekeeping, shopping, laundry and errands for eligible seniors. Minor home repairs are also available. Homeowners only pay for the materials, not labor. Offers Meals on Wheels program which delivers hot noontime meals on weekdays to homebound seniors and/or those unable to cook for themselves. YAP delivers individualized direct services to families involved in the child welfare system that focus on safety, permanency and well-being.

Organizes and guides small groups of women to learn more about what affects women, how to get help when confronted with sexual harassment or discrimination, pay wage differences, public policy, and more.

Services are designed to meet the needs and interests of older adults. Programs and services include Taproot Workshop, Senior Advocate, AARP, homebound service and computer instruction.

Provides seniors with a nutritious meal five days a week at a low cost. Also provides socialization opportunities, participation in group outings, attendance at legislative forums in Albany focusing on issues relating to seniors, recreational activities, and guest speakers addressing issues and concerns of seniors, such as Health Medicaid/Medicare, Food Stamps, HEAP, counseling and low-income housing needs. The program also provides transportation to seniors for their medical and dental appointments, prescription drug pick-up, food shopping and other essentials and to family and nutrition services.
