Administers programs and services to enhance employability, maximize independence, and assist in the development of the capacities and strengths of people who are legally blind. Programs include:

Equipment Loan Fund, which allows individuals to borrow up to $4,000 to purchase adaptive equipment.

Children's services for children who are legally blind, including early intervention rehabilitation, working with and empowering parents, arranging services to supplement educational activities, and ensuring a smooth transition to adult services.

Vocational rehabilitation programs for adults and youth ages 14 to 21 years, which provide a number of services, including assessment, information and referral, casework services, job coaching, orientation and mobility training, independent living skills training, and assistive technology assistance.

Independent living services for individuals who are not eligible for vocational rehabilitation services and who are not receiving services through another NYSCB Program. These services are provided based on individual need and may include orientation and mobility services, rehabilitation teaching, low vision services and devices, social casework, and adaptive equipment.

Provides legal services, advice and assistance to persons receiving care or alleged to be in need of care at inpatient and community based facilities for individuals with mental disabilities.

Assists foreign-born persons in dealing with technical, social and personal problems of moving from one culture to another. Provides older adults with access to a well-planned, coordinated package of in-home and other supportive services designed to support and supplement informal care. NYSOFA's overall goal is to improve access to, and availability of, appropriate and cost-effective non-medical support services for older individuals to maximize their ability to age in their community and avoid higher levels of care and publicly financed care. NYSOFA achieves this through our network of 59 area agencies on aging. This network provides the following core services in coordination with local partners: home delivered meals (HDM), congregate meals, nutrition counseling and education, senior center programming, health promotion and wellness, evidence based interventions (EBIs), volunteer opportunities, respite and caregiver supports, legal services, home modifications, repairs, elder abuse prevention and mitigation, NY Connects, health insurance information, counseling and assistance program (HIICAP), personal care level I and II, case management, ancillary services, such as Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) and assistive devices, social adult day services, transportation to needed medical appointments, community services and activities and long term care ombudsman program.

A coalition which looks at current or possible services which affect the Hispanic elderly, and ways of to get the information out, such as Spanish bulletins.

Advocates and works to support gender sexuality Alliances to end anti-LGBTQ+ bias in all schools.

Provides a wide range of gynecologic/reproductive health care services for adolescents, women and men. Offers family planning, contraception, testing, treatment and counseling for sexually transmitted diseases. Also provides telemedicine, pregnancy, abortion and gender affirming services. Offers sex education and reproductive health advocacy.

Provides a protection and advocacy system for individuals and their families with chronic diseases or developmental and other disabilities. Offers legal assistance of issues including: disability, Medicaid and other insurance, permanency planning, and housing.

Provides LGBT youth and allies, ages 13-21 with the knowledge, motivation, and skills necessary to make proud and responsible decisions concerning their sexual health.

Provides information and support regarding civil liberty rights such as 1st Amendment issues, student issues, and much more.

English as a Second Language, Pre-GED, Pre-literacy, Citizenship and Computer Classes with childcare, health screenings and Know Your Rights Clinics provided on-site during/immediately before and after class hours. While adults take classes, children are offered homework help and crafts/ educational activities in a dedicated children’s program room. Occasionally, other organizations come to the site to offer health screenings, financial literacy, connection to health services and immigration Know Your Rights Clinics immediately before or after class time. Night classes: Monday and Wednesday: 8:00 pm-9:30 pm
