Enforces the State's Human Rights Law by investigating, prosecuting, and resolving individual, group and Division initiated complaints of illegal discrimination. Educates the public to prevent and eliminate discrimination and promote awareness of the Human Rights Law. Develops legislation and policy to further the Division's role in enforcing the Law. Serves Nassau County Residents

Provides education, outreach, counseling and supportive services to lebian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTO) youth, up to age 30, and their families. Offers weekly young adult and transgender social support groups, individual and family counseling, free and confidential HIV/STD screening (up to age 45) and referrals to sexual health services. Also provides a Friday night drop-in center, up to age 21, for socializing with peers and drop- in short-term counseling, as needed. Provides social and educational groups for gay, bisexual and queer men (ages 18-45). Offers school-based services to include outreach and individual counseling at targeted schools, gay straight alliance (GSA) coordination and workshops, and workshops on Understanding Sexual Orientation and Understanding Gender. Offers workshops to professionals on working with LGBTO youth and creating safer school.
