Senior Services - Valley Community Association

Program designed to encourage and maintain healthy lifestyles in elderly residents of the Buffalo River Community by providing affordable healthy meals, facilitated physical activity, peer interaction and socialization, and health care navigation and access to support services. Program activities include congregate dining, low-impact aerobics exercise, pinochle, cards, Bingo, art classes compliments of Art Services, Inc., healthy aging education, recreational activities, day trips, and more. Transportation is provided for those in need to and from all the VCA senior programs on Tuesday through Friday.

Schiller Park Senior Citizen Center

Provides case management, education programs, information and referral, social and recreation programs, nutrition program, fitness classes, outreach, and transportation for medical needs, shopping, and nutrition program. Serves as a Cooling Center during times of extreme heat. Always call to make sure a Cooling Center is open before going there.

Senior's Multi-Service Center - Buffalo Urban League

Provides a full complement of services to adults ages 55 and over. Daytime programming includes breakfast, lunch, take-home food, exercise, field trips, transportation services, health and wellness information, assistance with senior benefits/issues, recreation and cultural activities, technology classes, workshops, and referral services. Also offers an emergency food pantry, open to residents living in zip code 14204. All services are operated and managed by seniors.

Friends, Inc. at Dorothy J. Collier Community Center (Service Group)

Provides daily hot meals in a social atmosphere. People can also opt to order frozen meals to take home. After school program offered for youth during the school year and 6 week summer camp offered when school not in session. Additional services include a private book club, bible study, exercise group, licensed daycare, community resource information, line dancing, and daily activities for seniors. OLDER ADULT CONGREGATE DINING | WESTCOTT COMMUNITY CENTER

Provides a continental breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and a nutritious lunch 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday for older adults age 60 and older. Offers free transportation to and from the center.

OYSTER BAY SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE CENTER | THE LIFE ENRICHMENT CENTER AT OYSTER BAY

Provides programmed activities and services for participants from the Villages of Oyster Bay, East Norwich, Bayville, Locust Valley, Brookville, Oyster Bay Cove, Mill Neck, Muttontown, Matinecock and the surrounding area who are 60 years and older. Activities and services include comprehensive social services, meals, food pantry if eligible, used clothing shop, transportation, referral of home care workers, fitness and exercise classes, exercise equipment work-outs, computer classes and five times weekly adult day service program for frail elderly. Seniors can become involved in advocacy issues, bible study, bingo, dances, nutrition counseling, trips and tours, volunteer opportunities and receive information about and referral to other services. Senior Center lunch is served Monday through Friday. Adult day service is provided Monday through Friday.
