Sponsors programs on art and art history for the scholarly community and for the general public. Houses research collections on the art of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner and their contemporaries. Located in East Hampton, the center is open to the public: May to October; Tuesdays-Sundays. The center, a National Historic Landmark, is operated as an historic site and research facility, and consists of the artists' house, their studio, and the study center containing the art reference library. The Parks department operates numerous museums and plays host to others by providing the property and physical facilities as well as other services. These museums provide a range of artistic and educational experiences for the public. In addition the Parks Department manages numerous nature preserves. These preserves offers visitors nature trails, access to historic buildings and natural habitats. The parks system provides a tremendous variety of experiences for residents and visitors. Many of our venues are open to the public and showcase the talents of our students and professors to the greater community. The Steinberg Museum of Art is hailed by The New York Times for its impressive collections, Steinberg Museum of Art at Hillwood serves as an integral part of the cultural resources at LIU Post. Each year the museum features exhibitions, lectures, demonstrations and symposia to enrich, inform and educate our students, the Campus and local communities. The Hutchins Gallery, located in the lower level of the Library, is a magnificent exhibit hall that showcases the sculpture and painting of local artists, faculty and students. The Student Art League Gallery Located in Hillwood Commons, displays the artwork of undergraduate and graduate art students. Exhibits range from one-person shows to small group exhibits, and include displays of ceramics, paintings, mixed media, multi-media and photography. Call for more detailed information.

Located at the former Frick Estate, a spectacular 145-acre property in Roslyn Harbor in the heart of Long Island's fabled Gold Coast. The main museum building, named in honor of art collectors and philanthropists Arnold and Joan Saltzman, is a three-story Georgian mansion that exemplifies Gold Coast architecture of the late 19th century. In addition to the Arnold & Joan Saltzman Fine Art Building, Nassau County Museum of Art includes the Sculpture Park, Formal Gardens of historic importance, the Pinetum, ponds, woodlands, an architecturally-significant restored trellis, rare specimen trees, and marked walking trails. Serves more than 18,000 Long Island school children and their teachers who visit the museum each year for exhibition tours and art-related activities. The Education Department additionally sponsors extensive programming for children, adults and family groups and also offers professional development to Long Island's educators. Offers programs for students, educators, families, and the community, connecting visitors with art in new and educational ways. Through dynamic educational programs and services, visitors to the Museum are invited to make meaningful connections with art that enrich their understanding of themselves and the diverse world community in which they live. Each year the Hofstra University Museum of Art serves the public and private schools of the Long Island region with engaging and meaningful explorations of authentic objects and art. The Museum welcomes visitors to its galleries Tuesday through Sunday during the school year. Galleries are closed on major holidays, during Hofstra University recesses and is closed on weekends in the summer. Call for more detailed information.
A museum of modern, contemporary and African art which hosts public programs such as curator-and docent-led exhibition tours, artist lectures, hands-on workshops, concerts, dance performances, readings, social events and family festivals to amplify visitor learning opportunities.
Managed by the Islip Arts Council, the museum presents four exhibitions of contemporary art. The Council also offers a year-round schedule of workshops, trips, lectures and fine arts classes for children and adults. Contains gift shop.

Offers a 4-acre property, including a main house that incorporates the original 17th-century home, one of the oldest structures on Long Island. There are also two carriage sheds and a walled garden.
