Sponsors programs on art and art history for the scholarly community and for the general public. Houses research collections on the art of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner and their contemporaries. Located in East Hampton, the center is open to the public: May to October; Tuesdays-Sundays. The center, a National Historic Landmark, is operated as an historic site and research facility, and consists of the artists' house, their studio, and the study center containing the art reference library. Accumulates and displays the Kings Park Town's past through photographs, videos, music, the written word and artificats, and make these resources available for all to enjoy and study with special emphasis on the students throughout the school district. Call for additional information.

Seeks to protect and preserve natural habitat which is home to a variety of plant and wildlife including waterfowl, osprey and white-tailed deer. Preserve also offers 50 miles of hiking, horseback riding (by annual permit), cross country skiing and nature trails, as well as fly fishing (with permit). The 32 mile Long Island Greenbelt Trail passes through the preserve. A museum and gift shop are also part of the preserve. Located on the roof of Herman A. Berliner Hall the Observatory offers programs to the general public during our “Stars on Sundays” and other astronomy outreach events. Music and Astronomy Under the Stars will resume this the summer. Free astronomy festival with stargazing at outdoor concerts and events bringing astronomy to the public with activities for kids of all ages. This Hofstra-sponsored program comprises videos, posters, banners, and hands-on-activities for all ages. There will be special solar telescope observations prior to the concerts and telescope observations of the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, multi-colored double stars, star clusters, and nebulae at intermission and after the events. Hofstra's Astronomy Outreach Program has brought the wonder of star-gazing to hundreds of children and adults at Long Island schools, hospitals, non-for-profit groups, parks, and beaches. Offers 25,000-square-foot Museum of American Armor, just inside the grounds of the Old Bethpage Village Restoration. The ability of the museum to create a military armored column among vintage farm houses and country roads, accurately replicating the sights and sounds of American forces during World War II, stands as one of the most compelling educational tools our region has at its disposal, in telling the seminal story of American courage, valor, and sacrifice, a virtual time machine. Collects, preserves, presents and interprets the material, cultural, and economic heritage of the town and its surroundings. The Society is also the parent company for a complex of five museums, national landmark historic sites and workshop facilities of both local and national importance. Also interprets social and natural history of the area through exhibits, living history programs, publications, tours, lectures and workshops.
