Sponsors programs on art and art history for the scholarly community and for the general public. Houses research collections on the art of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner and their contemporaries. Located in East Hampton, the center is open to the public: May to October; Tuesdays-Sundays. The center, a National Historic Landmark, is operated as an historic site and research facility, and consists of the artists' house, their studio, and the study center containing the art reference library. All other communities in the Town of Hempstead are serviced by either private companies or villages. The department offers tours and lectures at its East Meadow facility. This service is available to schools and senior groups, among others.

Offers a series of free lectures by research faculty on various aspects of Astronomy, most commonly on their own research or some topic of public interest. The lectures are held in Lecture Room 001 of the Earth and Space Sciences Building on Fridays at 7:30pm. Usually four lectures a semester are scheduled. Astronomy Open Night provides attendance certification for New York State teachers wishing to apply for in-service credit. Among these programs you can accumulate hours of lecture credit each year to apply toward your school district's program. Policies on in-service credit are set by school boards and you should check with your administration concerning the details of the local program. Try to be early for these lectures, increasing popularity of this series has seen the lecture hall full on occasion. Some disability-related accommodations are available. Call the Department at the number above before 4pm to inform them of your requirements. Due to COVID-19, the Open Nights will again be virtual this semester. Dedicated to providing a lively and intellectually challenging array of non-credit courses taught year-round in a university setting by other OLLI members. The program currently offers social and cultural enrichment through thought-provoking workshops per semester and a variety of exciting day-trips. OLLI members come from all walks of life and career paths and is open to retired and semi-retired individuals aged 50 or older regardless of their level of education or career experience, who are interested in a diverse learning environment that fosters mutual sharing of ideas, life experiences and the love of learning. There are no tests, no grades and no pre-requisites to join. OLLI workshops cover every possible genre you can imagine and are led by current OLLI members who volunteer their time. New workshops are always being considered and many are inspired by members of OLLI. There are many avenues for participation in OLLI aside from taking workshops. We encourage members to join one of our many committees, teach a workshop or attend one of our special event trips or lecture series. There is a membership fee for this program. These programs include exhibitions, films, lectures, conferences, performances, and educational discussions. The Charles B. Wang Center also supports scholarship and publications of eminence and intellectual merit. In public programs that respond to the broad issues of Asian and Asian American arts and culture, the Charles B. Wang Center seeks to create a dialogue between the established and the experimental, and between the past and the present. Central to the Charles B. Wang Center's mission is the encouragement of an ever-deeper understanding and enjoyment of Asian and Asian American arts and culture by diverse local, national and international audiences. These audiences are composed of students, faculty, artists, scholars and general public members of the Stony Brook community that the Center serves. The Charles B. Wang Center is ideal for hosting a variety of conferences and events. The versatile 124,000-square-foot layout features five multi-purpose meeting rooms of various sizes, two lecture halls, a fully equipped 239-seat theater, four open-air galleries and a non-denominational chapel. On the main floor is Jasmine, a food court cafe offering an array of delicious, fresh and seasonal Asian dishes. With state-of-the-art technology, the Charles B.
