Preserves the history of the 14th Regiment New York State Militia and the American Civil War. Living history presentations are done at schools, historical societies, museums, parades and other events. Sets up a camp that resembles one from the Civil War, does drill and firing exhibitions and runs through a brief drill using wooden muskets. Restores grave sites of the Veterans of the 14th Regiment N.Y.S.M. All presentations are given in full civil war uniform.

Exhibits a 1858 one room schoolhouse which has been restored to its original working condition. Visitation by appointment only.

Maintains five building on the site including two houses (1799) and (1841), a school house (1846), milk house (circa 1850), and a farm outbuilding with 19th century farm implements and machine on display. Permanent exhibit includes Indian artifacts recovered in Mattituck and a collection of 19th century quilts.
