MUSEUM COMPLEX | BELLPORT - BROOKHAVEN HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Museum Complex contains several buildings displaying early American artifacts and activities, the Blacksmith Shop, Milk House, Boat House and others. Offers guided tours to schools and organizations. Museum Shop/Exchange Shop also on premises. Call for fees and to schedule a tour.

MATTITUCK-LAUREL HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND MUSEUMS | MATTITUCK-LAUREL HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND MUSEUMS

Preserves and exhibits local history and presents programs on local history of Mattituck. Maintains five building on the site including two houses (1799) and (1841), a school house (1846), milk house (circa 1850), and a farm outbuilding with 19th century farm implements and machine on display. Permanent exhibit includes Indian artifacts recovered in Mattituck and a collection of 19th century quilts.

THE LONG ISLAND ROOM | MAIN BUILDING

Houses resource materials that allow researchers to better understand how the past shaped the local community. This is done through documents, ledgers, account books, scrapbooks, journals, personal correspondence, business records, pamphlets, photographs, postcards, contemporary books, and other similar items. Appointment recommended.

14TH REGIMENT N.Y.S.M. COMPANY E LIVING HISTORY ASSOCIATION | 14TH REGIMENT N.Y.S.M. COMPANY E LIVING HISTORY ASSOCIATION

Preserves the history of the 14th Regiment New York State Militia and the American Civil War. Living history presentations are done at schools, historical societies, museums, parades and other events. Sets up a camp that resembles one from the Civil War, does drill and firing exhibitions and runs through a brief drill using wooden muskets. Restores grave sites of the Veterans of the 14th Regiment N.Y.S.M. All presentations are given in full civil war uniform.

Features 409 acres of rolling lawns, gardens, woodlands, and nature walks. Visitors may see displays in the Camellia greenhouse and the Main Greenhouse, as well as go on guided tours of the Coe Hall Mansion. Seasonal activities include outdoor tent and lawn concerts, classes, flower shows, craft shows, holiday tree lighting and festivals. Hiking allowed. Call for further information.
