Recruits, interviews, screens, trains and supports volunteers who agree to a one year commitment to visit their Compeer friend for a minimum of fours hours a month. Provides program participants with supportive friendship, advocacy, increased social interaction, positive role models and access to educational community activities.

We offer a comprehensive array of treatment, rehabilitation and clinical services that are customized to meet the needs of each participant. Free lunch included while at the program.
Offers performances by an improvisational theater group which explores the myths and realities of mental illness. Features vignettes about family conflicts, stigmas, divorce, troubled teens, group homes, living with the mentally ill, suicide, homeless and more. Discussions are led by a professional mental health facilitator. Performances may serve teenage programs, senior centers, community groups, church groups, professional meetings, etc. Appointment required. Call for more information.

Provides 24 hour supervision at local community sites for adults with mental illness. Services provided at each site are restorative services, symptom management, community living skills, information and referral, crisis management, medication education and monitoring, and community integration. Staff provides supportive assistance and instruction in daily living skills and use of community resources. There are ten residences located in Nassau and Suffolk County. Transportation provided to local day treatment services.

Additional services include preparation for employment, maintaining employment and money management.
