MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES | MADISON COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT

* Provides community mental health services and outpatient services including: Individual therapy Group therapy Marital and family therapy Referrals to mental health providers as needed Crisis Services Teletherapy* Provides temporary coverage for the cost of medications for individuals with a mental illness who leave the local jail or a local hospital, and have applied for Medicaid (Chapter 15 of Kendra's Law). The Medication Grant program provides funding to counties to pay for the individual's mental health medications (and some other medications) while they await activation of their Medicaid case.

Wilson Support Center

Provides individually customized support by licensed grief professionals, acknowledging that grief affects everyone differently. Anyone is eligible to call and receive support. Supportive services include telephone support, counseling referrals, group referrals, youth support resources, resource library, and educational presentations. As an affiliate of Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo, also provides counseling and support groups for those in the hospice bereavement program.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES | RESPONSE CRISIS CENTER

Volunteers needed as telephone crisis counselors for agency's 24-hour hotline and the support line which provides telephone visits to homebound individuals. Training in crisis intervention communication skills provided, consisting of 24 hours classroom hours and 24 hours hands on training in conjunction with an experienced hotline counselor. Shifts are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Request commitment of one 4 hour shift per week for a minimum of 6 months. College-age and adults.
