A program which focuses on the interaction between animals and humans. Components of the program include experiencing the responsibility of brushing, washing and feeding dogs, cats, rabbits and birds. Since animals are non-judgemental, individuals with disabilities can interact comfortably with them without feeling different. All animals are evaluated and certified by The Delta Society.

Animal Assisted Visitation Program.

Through an on-site nature center with plants and animals, it provides an opportunity for adults and children with Cerebral Palsy or developmental disabilities to explore their environment. The center has a variety of plants, dogs, turtles and snakes which provides a unique experience to teach individuals about nature. This therapeutic tool has been beneficial in increasing attention and concentration, enhancing relaxation, building self-esteem, teaching responsibility from caring for the animals, and understanding nature and the diversity of life.

We embrace the empathic gifts that come naturally to the horses to assist struggling humans. HALos collaborates with educators, community leaders, mental health and healthcare professionals. Receives referrals from the local public school systems, and collaborate with Broome Chenango Canine Help Group. This organization provides registered therapy dogs to families when needed. Opportunity to pet, touch, and talk to these therapy dogs has proven beneficial to some individuals.
