Animal Assisted Visitation Program.

Provides a multi-faceted approach to therapeutic recreational activities for children. Programs include individual and group sessions, off site trips, on-site special events, adapted aquatics, horseback riding, wheelchair sports, pet therapy, music therapy, arts and crafts projects, massage therapy, aromatherapy, and wheelchair dancing. These programs help children cope with their illness or disability while reinforcing their individual goals while having fun.

* Provides shelter for the care of abandoned, abused and neglected dogs and cats. Cruelty to animals complaints referred to Humane Law Enforcement Staff. * Maintains a "Lost and Found" service. * Offers the Spay/Neuter Program for low-income pet owners.

* Offers shelter and placement service for homeless and stray animals.* Offers low cost spay/neuter services of owned dogs and cats to low-income and qualified individuals.* Provides temporary care (30 days) of animals for qualifying pet owners. Offers multiple canine-assisted activities, utilizing certified therapy dogs who engage with participants in one-on-one experiences including elements found in canine sports. Participants include a large variety of individuals and groups of children and adults with and without special needs.

SPCA volunteers take specially trained shelter dogs or their own dogs to visit nursing and retirement homes, hospitals, group homes and day care centers. Also recruits volunteers who would like to work with the dogs and those people the dogs are taken to visit.

Our mission is to rescue animals who are abused, neglected, or unwanted and provide a loving home for them. We embrace the empathic gifts that come naturally to the horses to assist struggling humans. Through groundwork equine therapy, we empower those living in grief, allowing for healing and providing steps toward creating a new life, all through forming a special bond with an equally vulnerable animal. Country line dancing classes are offered on Monday nights, as well as a monthly Barn Dance.

A program which focuses on the interaction between animals and humans. Components of the program include experiencing the responsibility of brushing, washing and feeding dogs, cats, rabbits and birds. Since animals are non-judgemental, individuals with disabilities can interact comfortably with them without feeling different. All animals are evaluated and certified by The Delta Society.
