Provides the residents of Nassau County with a constituent centered and holistic approach to the delivery of services and information through and between its Office for the Aging, Office of Mental Health, Chemical Dependency, and Developmental Disabilities Service, Office for the Physically Challenged, and Office of Youth Services. The department facilitates the sharing and exchange of knowledge, skill, and professionalism in a comprehensive and integrated manner. Provides comprehensive therapeutic services for children, adults, families and couples throughout Nassau County. Issues addressed include abuse, adjustment to changes, anxiety, depression, chronic psychiatric conditions, relationship issues and trauma. Appointment required.

Offers primary care in low risk obstetric care, well-baby and child care, gynecology and family planning, regular physicals, social/psychological and counseling services, geriatric care, nutritional guidance, employment physicals, annual health screenings, office-based minor surgical and dermatologic procedures and cancer screening. Provides assessment and treatment for families impacted by abuse. Services include psychiatric care, medication management if needed, and referrals for legal or housing issues.

Offers individual, group, couples and family therapy for children, adolescents and adults in NYS licensed mental health clinics. Psychiatric consultation, medication therapy and specialized services for children and trauma survivors are also available. Offers a wide range of services for youth with psychiatric hospitalization and families experiencing problems which interfere with healthy development of their children. Includes treatment for youth through age 21 at risk of suicide, those adjusting to divorce, or other family crisis, eating disorders, social difficulties, unmanageable behavior, depression, or anxiety disorders. Walk-in services are also available for anyone seeking support.

Works with clients who are: Suffering with chronic pain that is interfering with their quality of life; Overwhelmed by anxiety; Stressed by work, family and/or unmanageable finances and Struggling with pessimistic thoughts and painful memories. Acceptance and commitment therapy aims to free clients from the grip of emotional and/or physical pain, teaching them to live effectively with the difficult symptoms associated with chronic pain, chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, panic and stress-related problems. Through its emphasis on values, behavioral commitment and acceptance, acceptance and commitment therapy prepares patients to be increasingly present in their lives and encourages them to commit to living in a rich and meaningful manner. Offers services to schools in providing guidance and support to deal with issues of loss and grief among students. Services include training, workshops on loss and grief for students and staff, consultations with teachers, guidance staff and students, resource materials, and assistance with bereavement group sessions for students.

Offers individuals with mental illness, 18 years of age and older, a complete recovery program that supports the individual's goals. Provides psychiatric rehabilitation, wellness management and recovery classes along with services of social worker, psychiatrist and nurse practioner.

Provides free confidential counseling, education and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault, including a 24 hour hotline. Support services also include accompaniment at the hospital or to the police, etc. Helps anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault, no matter if it occurred recently or years ago.

Probation supervision and treatment of youth who have committed sexual offenses.

Victim-centered, compassionate medical and forensic care in a private setting for rape and sexual assault survivors. Free physical examination with an injury assessment, collection of forensic evidence and appropriate prophylaxis medications provided by specially trained medical professionals. Victim Information Bureau of Suffolk (VIBS) will provide accompaniment by a rape crisis counselor for emotional support during the exam and follow-up by the SANE Liaison for counseling resources, medical and legal advocacy.

Offers benefit information regarding but not limited to Filing Claims for Benefits from Federal & State Agencies; Filing DD-214, discharge papers & separation papers; Assist Veteran Service Organizations; Assist with Appeals; Community Affairs-Memorial Services, Dedications, Ceremonies, etc.; Referrals to other County, State & Federal Agencies and In Home visits to assist the housebound with claims. Supports the VA's effort to prevent at-risk veterans from becoming homeless and rapidly rehousing those who have fallen into homelessness. Promotes housing stability and helps connect veterans and their family members to VA services and other benefits. Offers additional services such as case management, housing counseling, fiduciary and payee services, access or referrals to mental health care, child care services, legal services, personal financial planning services, and temporary financial assistance to those who qualify. Provides group and individual counseling services in Spanish for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault/rape, human trafficking, elder abuse, and veterans.

Provides psychotherapy to veterans who have experienced war related trauma. Offers emotional support, individual, group and family support, counseling for military sexual trauma and bereavement, and medical referrals.

An outpatient clinic for adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, family conflicts, emotional or psychiatric illness. The program is offered by Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Nurse Practitioner. The Empower program provides services to youth in foster care that are at risk of, or have been victims of exploitation and/or complex sexual trauma that require residential and supportive services. The program accepts adolescent girls and transgender youth ages 11-21.

A trained social worker will meet with senior in the home to provide short term counseling and support to help resolve issues or conflicts.

Provides individual and group therapies for survivors of sexual assault or other crimes. Offers criminal justice interventions and assistance with all entitlements.
