MADONNA HEIGHTS GROUP RESIDENCE | MADONNA HEIGHTS

Provides diagnostic services, special education, small therapeutic group living, individual, family, group therapy, and recreational therapy. Allows long-term placement in main facility for girls 12 to 17 years. Offers trauma informed gender responsive care specific to the unique needs and issues of adolescent girls. Located in a campus setting, the residence provides 24-hour residential care and a wide range of therapeutic services to support the girls and their families in their emotional, behavioral and social healing and growth. The program responds to a variety of behaviors typically displayed by girls including; truancy, school anxiety, mental health issues of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, self-directed violence, peer conflicts, family discord, sexual exploitation and runaway behaviors and trauma. The youth in residence attend the Madonna Heights School, a fully accredited New York State Regents junior/senior high school located on the same campus. The Group Residence offers traditional residential placements, short term 30-90 day placements and diagnostic placements.

St. Mary's Behavioral Health Services offers information on adult and children's psychiatric evaluations. The St. Mary's Children's Mental Health Clinic provides outpatient mental health services for seriously emotionally disturbed children up to 18 years of age and their families who reside in Fulton, Montgomery and Hamilton counties. Limited evening and and Saturday appointments may be available upon request. St. Mary's Emergency Services provides 24-hour-contact with mental health services including emergency telephone counseling. Other services include in-person evaluations, intervention and assessment.

DELAWARE AVENUE COMMUNITY RESIDENCE | PARSONS CHILD AND FAMILY CENTER

217 Delaware Ave community residence is actually 2 programs in one building. The one level is for adolescents who require trauma informed treatment and permanency planning while residing in a safe setting. The goal is to maintain as many community connections as possible, i.e. school, family, spiritual life, etc. The residents stay for the necessary time to reach their goals, so this is can be either short term or long term depending on the situation. Each resident has an individual plan and individual goals. The other level and program is a semi independent living program designed to assist youth in care to receive the benefits of care while practicing to be on their own. These 18-21 year old youth are supported in finishing school, trade school, finding employment, budgeting, and food shopping, maintaining their environment, and developing social skills. This co-ed group home with ten total beds is located in the City of Albany. 217 Delaware Ave also offers emergency admissions for children of all ages. These admissions are on a more short term basis. They stay at the Delaware Ave location while a more long term plan can be developed.
