Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center (MHFPC) is a secure adult psychiatric center for patients admitted by court order.

Provides acute, intense, short-term, inpatient psychiatric treatment to adolescents ages 12-17. Aims to achieve rapid stabilization to make possible ongoing treatment in a less restrictive setting. A variety of behavioral and emotional problems are treated including: anxiety disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders and other disruptive behavior disorders, mood disorders including major depression, bipolar disorders and psychotic disorders. Operates a 27 bed unit for adults and geriatric patients with psychiatric and behavioral problems. These include anxiety and panic disorders, depression, manic depressive illness, schizophrenia, and eating disorders that require 24 hour nursing care and supervision. Specializes in the assessment and treatment of children (age 7-21) with sexual behavior problems and juvenile sexual offenders. Offers a comprehensive array of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health (mental health) services using a multidisciplinary approach. Issues addressed include anxiety and depression, grief and loss, addictions, and all other mental health issues. Provides medication management services, staffed by registered nurses. Adult Continuing Day Treatment as well as inpatient care are offered five days a week.

A school tutorial program and vocational training are also available. Therapies include individual and group psychotherapy, psychopharmacology and recreational and occupational therapy.
