Provides volunteer services both to veteran organizations and to the general community including the Northport Veterans Medical Center.

Support services provided to current open-heart surgery patients by individuals who have successfully recovered from open-heart surgery. Visit post-surgical patients one to two times per week. Offer a telephone support line (HeartLine) , a semi-annual newsletter and meetings focused on health related topics, special events (trips, outings and dinners).

Offers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to read for pleasure and socialize in the community on a weekly basis.

Provides an environment of support which allows individuals with emotional, physical and social disabilities to expand their boundaries.

Oversees volunteer program and youth community service projects in Broome County, coordination of Blood Services volunteers and community presentations on preparedness. Volunteer opportunities range from helping at blood drives to office assistance. Also opportunities to work in disaster relief, youth services, health/safety education. Teen volunteer opportunities range from helping at blood drives to grocery shopping for homebound elderly to office assistance. Also opportunities to work in disaster relief, youth services, health/safety education.Age Requirement: 16+ yrs. Offers support for children and families coping with a hospital experience, both inpatient and outpatient. Provides therapeutic play, education about hospital routines and medical procedures by a multidisciplinary team including certified child life specialists. Offers emergency room and hospital visits to reduce anxiety and resources for parents on how to support their child and siblings.

Our mission is to rescue animals who are abused, neglected, or unwanted and provide a loving home for them. We embrace the empathic gifts that come naturally to the horses to assist struggling humans. Through groundwork equine therapy, we empower those living in grief, allowing for healing and providing steps toward creating a new life, all through forming a special bond with an equally vulnerable animal. Country line dancing classes are offered on Monday nights, as well as a monthly Barn Dance.

Provides professional horseback riding lessons for all skill levels and age groups. Offers therapeutic riding lessons, training for the Special Olympics along with equestrian activities for children, summer horse and pony clubs. Volunteer opportunities for students (12 and up) and adults are available.

Provide volunteer opportunities ranging from interacting with people who have developmental challenges to supporting the chapter's fund raising activities. Areas for interaction include: accompanying staff and individual on medical appointments and on outings into local communities assisting one-on-one in the vocational training program being a SPECIAL FRIEND to someone living in an AHRC group home, assisting with leisure activities and areas of fund raising activities.
