All volunteers complete a mandatory 20-hour training program. Patient care volunteers help patients and families with household chores, shopping, transportation, and companionship. This is done in the patient's home setting, whatever that may be. Patient care volunteers are also utilized in our 6-bed residence to help prepare and serve meals and to provide companionship.Specially trained and/or professional volunteers also support bereaved families, play music, give massages, and provide pet visits. Support services provided to current open-heart surgery patients by individuals who have successfully recovered from open-heart surgery. Visit post-surgical patients one to two times per week. Offer a telephone support line (HeartLine) , a semi-annual newsletter and meetings focused on health related topics, special events (trips, outings and dinners).

Provides professional horseback riding lessons for all skill levels and age groups. Offers therapeutic riding lessons, training for the Special Olympics along with equestrian activities for children, summer horse and pony clubs. Our mission is to rescue animals who are abused, neglected, or unwanted and provide a loving home for them. We embrace the empathic gifts that come naturally to the horses to assist struggling humans.
