Troy Boys & Girls Club has opportunities available for volunteers in almost every capacity. Working with children in their groups during after school programs (mentoring, tutoring), providing specialized programs for youth and teens (arts/crafts, science, technology, dramatic arts, dance, career exploration, job preparedness), administrative support (data entry, database management, prepare mailings, office assistant, etc.), capital improvement projects, and much more.

Operates an intensive summer program for low income and at-risk youth. Educates High School students on Microsoft Office, including writing resume and preparing spreadsheets, designing and presenting powerpoint presentations, collaboration between program participants in website design and coding. Provides students with a laptop at the end of the program. Accepts donations of computers, Pentium IV or better, are accepted.

Volunteers needed to assist in office work, primarily filing, typing and telephone work. Flexible hours, weekdays 9am-noon or 1pm-5pm. College-age, Adults, High School, AHORA SI volunteers tutor limited English-speaking children 5-12 years old in the areas of mathematics, writing, reading, social studies, science, etc. Mon, Tues, and Wed., 3pm-5pm. Volunteers needed to teach computer literacy from 10am-11am and 3pm-5pm.

Offers a state-of-the-art computer center for gay and lesbian youth, ages 13 and older, with internet access. Provides hands-on experiences, computer classses on a wide range of ability levels and software training.

Seeks volunteers to assist with recreational therapy, make friendly visits, staff gift shop, provide wheelchair transport to activities and therapy, teach computer skills, assist with clerical, share talents such as painting, crafts, sewing, etc.

Offer a low-cost, friendly introduction to using computers. The basic curriculum is comprised of courses on introduction to computers, word processing, spreadsheets and going online and using the Internet. More advanced courses include topics such as genealogy, graphics, personal financial management and tax preparation with a computer. Most Centers offer open lab time where students can use computers to practice their skills or to work on individual projects.

Provides a number of volunteer opportunities for older adults who want to help nonprofit agencies in their community.

Volunteers teach basic computer skills to student groups and senior citizen group. Volunteer sewing instructor needed to teach community residents. High School, College-age, Adults.
