**DUE TO COVID-19, PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY ON HOLD - TENTATIVELY UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2021 ** Thomas Sports Group needs volunteers for tutoring and education, to assist youth with job training, including computer training, as mentors, to coach youth in organized sports teams, as chaperones, and those who are willing to transport youth to and from organized sports events and other activities.

Volunteers help with shelving books and clerical work. Youth volunteers interviewed in May/June for Summer Reading Program that starts in July.

* Provides a mentoring program for at-risk-youth that offers both community-based and school-based programs. Volunteers are high school students.

Offers an after-school program and full day child care, during school vacations including the summer, for children ages 5-17 residing in the Town of Hempstead. Homework assistance is provided by volunteers with an emphasis on reading, expressive and receptive language skills, mathematics and concept development. Recreational activities and snacks are provided. Collaboration with local schools is encouraged by the program coordinator and bilingual staff. Older students (ages 13-17) may serve as program volunteers, translators or participate as interns in local businesses. On-site child care.

Troy Boys & Girls Club has opportunities available for volunteers in almost every capacity. Working with children in their groups during after school programs (mentoring, tutoring), providing specialized programs for youth and teens (arts/crafts, science, technology, dramatic arts, dance, career exploration, job preparedness), administrative support (data entry, database management, prepare mailings, office assistant, etc.), capital improvement projects, and much more.

Employs services of 13-20 year olds to deliver literacy and education activities to After School Program participants ages 5-11 year olds.

Offers adult English language learners, and basic literacy learners the opportunity to meet with volunteer tutors for two hours per week.

Drop in learning centers provide English as a second language tutoring and conversational groups for beginner to advanced learners. Some sites offer child care, locations throughout Dutchess County.
