CARES agency needs volunteers to assist with their website and with social networking. This can be done on their own home computer. Volunteers are also needed to assist on the day of the AIDSWalk with volunteer coordination, check-in and passing out water and T-shirts. The walk is scheduled annually for the last week of September.

Recruits and trains volunteers for a variety of opportunities, such as special events, education and legislative programs.

Recruits volunteers to provide transportation, running errands, doing household tasks, help plan and manage appointments, assist with phone calls or other clerical duties, companionship, etc.

Offers individuals and groups the opportunity to help with fund raising, and routine home and yard maintenance. Monetary donations are always accepted.

Volunteers help clean the shelter, do laundry, care for the cats and socialize the cats. Additionally, there is gardening work and painting, on an as needed basis. Volunteers are welcome on a regular schedule or whenever available even if only for a few hours. Help is needed to clean and feed the cats from 9:15 a.m. to noon, prior to the opening to the public. Socialization of the cats happens beginning at noon.

The Thrift Shoppe connects us with our surrounding community. Accepts donated clothing and other household goods. Additionally, volunteers are needed to help collect, organize, and assist in running the shop.

Recruits volunteers with expertise in business matters to counsel small business owners.

Volunteer opportunities include the weekend welcome and merchandise booth, assistance with events and in the office. Ambassador opportunities include tour guides for formal tours, and for informal (walk-up) tours and off-site speaking engagements, including help for the Farmer's Market which runs from June through October.

Recruits volunteers who want to provide compassionate and supportive care to terminally ill patients and their families. Volunteer opportunities include, patient care support, 11th Hour (sitting with a dying patient and providing emotional support to the family), pet therapy (dog owners can accompany their pet to visit patients), and clerical duties.

Donations of blankets, hats, scarves, socks, and gloves are given to those in need the Friday before Christmas.

Helps women and young girls experiencing an unexpected pregnancy. Offers alternative to abortion and referrals for medical care, diapers, formula, maternity clothes and baby clothing. Offers pregnancy self-test. All services are free and confidential.
