The CAPteen Program promotes youth development through a variety of leadership, volunteer community service, and character building opportunities. This student led initiative of CAPTAIN CHS offers teens in the Shenendehowa School District a variety of activities that give back to the community.

* Provides an after school program and an extended summer program.* Offers 5 core areas that help in character and leadership, education and careers, health and life skills, arts and sports, fitness and recreation.

* Offers a coalition of youth-serving organizations that promote youth development and youth health in the City's highest-need neighborhoods.

* Provides youth development. * Offers school-age after school activities: Arts and crafts Academic assistance College preparation and exposure Leadership and character development Vocational awareness Artistic and cultural development Health and fitness Community service Social-emotional learning STEAM/STEM

Provides an after-school program offering academic and recreational activities for youth ages 10 to 18 years. Emphasizes tutoring in Math, English, and Science for youth who have limited English proficiency and who are at-risk of failing in school. Offers free transportation to students.

The Girl Scouts Leadership Experience is a one-of-a-kind leadership development program for girls. Girl Scouts is a place where girls practice different skills, explore their potential, take on leadership positions.

Rockland County Youth Employment Program, (YEP). This year-round youth workforce preparation initiative provides employment training and job placement for eligible young people between the ages of 14 and 21. The YEP builds partnership with local private businesses, not-for-profits and municipal agencies to promote youth workforce development within the county, as well as providing for a labor cost savings for all participating employers. The YEP, funded by Rockland County and the Department of Social Services through the Federal Summer Youth Employment Program funding consists of two components: T.E.E.N. Works (Teen Employment Education Network), a 13-week program, offered in the after school hours, provides workforce preparation training and experiential activities for teens and young adults between the ages of 14 and 21.

Provides a safe and enriching environment for elementary school children with opportunities and experiences that stimulate a child's intellectual, social, physical and emotional development. This program also offers a full day vacation camp during the February and April school vacation weeks.

The 4-H is a membership club for children and adolescents, which works to build leadership skills, independence, belonging, generosity and mastery, through community involvement, animal care, gardening, personal safety, science technology, and much more.

* Provides early childhood education.* Offers before and after school programs.

Year-round programming for middle and high school youth, primarily Trumansburg/Ulysses residents. Provides park and recreational programs and activities for residents and visitors to the City of Schenectady.

Provides informal educational services to develop leadership and life skills to help youth become competent, caring, and contributing citizens.

Service provide education and compensatory services, leadership, community action; career and life planning; sports and adventure; self-reliance and life skills; culture and heritage; health and sexuality.

Provides opportunities for youth to develop critical skills, such as leadership, cooperation, and responsibility, through projects and activities.

Teens in the Teen Program are able to participate in a variety of local and national programs along with an assortment of activities and events offered and organized by local universities. We hope that by participating in various programs, our teens will discover their potential and possibilities for the future.

Provides experiential, non-traditional way of working with children. Offers a unique training and education experience which utilizes the beauty and adventure of the outdoors as a catalyst to promote growth of character, to learn trust and confidence, and strengthen decision-making ability.
