Youth get assistance with homework, are provided a healthy snack and evening meal, participate in unique learning activities, go on field trips, hear from dynamic speakers, and volunteer in the community.School Supplies can be picked up at The Place from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, September 2; Tuesday, September 6; and Wednesday, September 7, or until supplies last.

Scholarship Awards are made in two areas: academic and enrichment. Academic and enrichment scholarships awarded to support eligible youth. Community service grants are made to youth-serving agencies and schools that are mentoring a group of 7th-12th grade youth on a community service project. A Youth Advisory Board, led by teen volunteers from Long Island schools, works with United Way to review all applications and make scholarship award recommendations.
