The council provides an opportunity for Mount Vernonâs youth to participate in city government and the community. It also provides an opportunity for these young people to have their voices heard and become involved in the planning and implementation of projects that enhance the city.
Youth who participate in 4-H find a supportive environment and opportunities for hands-on or "experiential" learning about things that interest them. They also get confidence, compassion and connections with caring adults to make contributions to their communities.
