Is a partner with St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in the Amityville Ecumenical Ministry providing job referrals, soup kitchen, CEPU (Comprehensive Emergency Program for the Unemployed (631)598-2378), and counseling. Provides meeting space for Al-Anon, Explorer Scouts, and Girl Scouts. Sponsors the Grace Day School for preschoolers Monday-Friday.

Scouting | Boy Scouts of America - Allegheny Highlands Council

Provides opportunities for scouting to all boys and young adults in the counties served and support all units, and their volunteer leaders. Council is made up of all the chartered organizations and their volunteer scouters. Offers Cub Scout program to boys and girls, kindergarten through fifth grade. Offers Scouts BSA program is for boys and girls in sixth grade to age eighteen. Offers co-ed Venturing and Exploring programs which provide opportunities to experience career exploration in specific areas and high adventure for youth 14-20. Through an extensive on hands stem program we provide learning opportunities to youth through scouting for character development, citizenship and leadership training.

As a volunteer, you'll introduce girls to new experiences that show them they're capable of more than they ever imagined. You'll be their cheerleader, guide, and mentor helping them develop essential life skills and confidence that will last a lifetime. Volunteers are needed to take on the following roles: troop leaders who work with girls on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, event planning and program committees, program assistance, council shop and photographers for special events. Flexible times and hours.
