Mental health professionals trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing with a specialty in suicide respond to calls and responses are made in home usually within less that 24 hours. Also responds to businesses and schools touched by suicide. In addition Joe's Project has a team of trained volunteers who have previously lost a loved one to suicide to work with families and run support groups. Provides individual, family, and group counseling, as well as support to organizations and communities affected by the loss of someone who died by suicide. Upon request, FSL’s trained professional staff will visit your home, school, business, or another location of your choosing to help you walk through the excruciating days and weeks that follow your loss. If you prefer to wait, assistance from a Joe’s Project counselor may be arranged anytime you feel ready. May also provide or recommend resources for follow up counseling, support groups, and referrals for additional services.

The Moving On group offers spouses and partners who have previously attended a bereavement group at Rockland Jewish Family Service or elsewhere the opportunity to continue meeting in a facilitated group setting. Members share their challenges and experiences as they discuss the process of adapting to life without their loved one.
Hospice services are coordinated by an interdisciplinary team who ensure continuity of patient and family care.

This is accomplished through art, music, books, and discussions. We service young children ages 6 through teens through the Thriving Families Grief Support Group.
