A music and arts program for Veterans interested in learning to play guitar, harmonica, and/or ukulele in a group setting at West Falls Arts Center in the Southtowns of Buffalo. ##Veteran##

The Center provides a wide array of classes in dance, music, fitness/wellness, theater, spoken word, computer arts technology and the visual arts. These classes are offered after school, evenings and weekends at our main site in midtown Kingston. A homework and tutoring center is also available. Programs include S.P.I.C.E, a year round project for low income women and their children (provides childcare at the center if needed to participate) with a special focus on women of color.

Provides young musicians the opportunity to study and perform under professional direction and guidance. Consists of three fully instrumental symphony orchestras, a chorus and a wind ensemble.

Provides individual and small group instrumental (Piano, Trumpet, Trombone, Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone & Drums) and voice lessons for children ages 7-13. The children are taught by talented high school, college, and community musicians. Through our Youth Mentorship Program, the youth instructors themselves learn leadership, responsibility, and teaching skills by professional musicians and music educators who serve as mentors and guides.

Offers year round classes in music and visual arts for all ages, including a 2 week Renaissance Kid Camp for ages 5-8 which combines art, theater and music, and weekly Fine Arts and Music Camps for ages 9-14. East End Arts School provides private music lessons for all abilities and ages, and visual arts courses and workshops in multi-mediums for children and adults. Offers a summer music camp that provides the opportunity for young children to learn how to play the violin or to enhance their ability of those who already play. Offers an amazing public high school program that has transformed the lives of young emerging artists from across Long Island through both its high school and summer programs. LIHSA is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Under New York State’s “4+1” pathway assessment option, students must take and pass four required Regents Exams or Department Approved Alternative assessments and complete a comparably rigorous pathway to meet the fifth assessment requirement for graduation. Students can now do this with completion of the Career and Technical Education-approved exam and the core sequence of classes at LIHSA.
