Provides a transportation assistance program designed to support income eligible households in acquiring transportation so adults may maintain employment.Financial assistance with the following: Vehicle repairs Gas cards Vehicle insurance payments Inspection cost Abstract cost Client DMV Registration Case ManagementThese services will target TANF-eligible households who reside in Otsego County and are working at least 20 hours/week or have a letter of hire to work at least 20hours/week.

* Offers individuals of all ages and abilities coaching to learn to drive safely and confidently through services including: Customized training in specially equipped vehicles, training in new driving techniques and vehicle equipment evaluations.

* Provides outpatient rehabilitation services at two locations. At the Faxton Campus, all services are available, and it is home to an aqua therapy pool and a rehabilitation gym. The second location is at St. Elizabeth Medical Arts, where physical therapy services are available. Available services offered between both sites include:

The MV-285 allows students with a NYS Junior Permit to schedule a road test, receive their senior license at the age of 17 instead of 18, and may be eligible for a rate reduction in their automobile insurance. This program consists of 25.5 hours of classroom instruction and 25.5 hours of behind the wheel training and observation. Effective July 1, this course will be offered in-person, on the Ammerman Campus in Selden. The main building at 2 Bank Street is still open but please call for more information. For in person help, please visit the satellite location at Genesee County Career Center, 587 East Main Street, Batavia. **** Provides weekly programs at the Batavia Senior Center. Some of the programs offered are bridge, line dancing, cribbage, arthritis chair-based exercise, quilters, and painting classes. New groups are always being organized. Special programs such as 55 Alive Driver Refresher Course, educational, health, and informational programs are also offered. Day trips to concerts, exhibits, musical productions, restaurants, and areas of special interest are also scheduled in the spring, summer, and fall. Senior groups and clubs exist in most areas of the county which offer luncheons and pot luck dinners. Most groups offer programs of interest, entertainment, day trips, and other recreational activities.

Provides education for adults and high school students in skilled trades leading to high demand career fields including short term certifications in health care, welding, and commercial driver's licenses. Longer educational programs in a variety of trades lasting 1-2 years are also available. Also provides free Adult Basic Education classes in Dunkirk and Jamestown, as well as ESL classes and High School Equivalency preparation.

Offers an Adaptive Driver Training program for individuals exhibiting physical or non-physical disabling conditions. Candidates can be first-time drivers or re-trainees. All prospective students must possess a New York State learner permit or valid driver license. Additionally, students are required to undergo a thorough driving evaluation to determine whether the student possesses the appropriate physical, mental, and emotional abilities necessary for success in driver training. All vehicles are fully equipped with adaptive driving equipment for those with physical limitations. One-on-one training is individualized and designed to teach driving habits and skills necessary to pass a New York State road test. The service is available to all school districts, as well as state and private rehabilitation programs and those with a physician’s referral. This course is designated as the Regional Adaptive Driver Training Program of Suffolk County for the Handicapped by the Office of Adult Career and Continuing Education Services – Vocational Rehabilitation.
