Those who successfully complete the course will receive the MV-285 Student Certificate Completion issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles. The MV-285 allows students with a NYS Junior Permit to schedule a road test, receive their senior license at the age of 17 instead of 18, and may be eligible for a rate reduction in their automobile insurance. This program consists of 25.5 hours of classroom instruction and 25.5 hours of behind the wheel training and observation. Effective July 1, this course will be offered in-person, on the Ammerman Campus in Selden. Please note that XDT100 and XDT200 are corequisites and must be taken together and successfully completed to obtain the MV-285. Adaptive Driving provides driver evaluation and training to individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Online Smart Driver Course or in person course offered at some senior centers.

Supported Employment: Services include pre-employment, placement, post-employment, case management, crisis intervention, and job coaching. Transportation may be available depending upon placement; not always available. Vocational Assessment Services: Services include vocational evaluations, career counseling, pre-employment testing, and linkage. Driver's Rehabilitation: Services include training, clinical evaluations, and vehicle modification evaluations, available for individuals with severe limitations.

Provides evaluation and training of individuals with disabilities to help them obtain their NYS Driver's License, along with permit tutoring, adaptive equipment prescriptions as needed, vehicle/equipment assessments, and behind-the-wheel assessment and training.

Workforce Development offers non-credit courses to help individuals meet their career goals in areas such as Emergency Medical Technician; Advanced Emergency Medical Technician; Commercial Drone Piloting; Pharmacy Technician; Sterile Processing Technician; Landscape Design, Installation, and Management; Floral Design; Cannabis Cultivation; Retail Cannabis; and Cannabis Processing. A CDL Program is available on-site through 160 Driving Academy. In addition to career focused programs, Workforce Development offers skill courses to individuals in areas such as Basic Life Support, Notary Public, Driving Education, and Motorcycle Training. Customized Training is offered to companies in areas such as Adobe; Excel; Outlook; Communication and Leadership; Budgeting and Finance; First Aid, CPR, and AED; and a variety of OSHA mandated topics. There is a wide variety of topics that can be covered in customized training; all offerings are not listed here.

Provides education for adults and high school students in skilled trades leading to high demand career fields including short term certifications in health care, welding, and commercial driver's licenses. Longer educational programs in a variety of trades lasting 1-2 years are also available. Also provides free Adult Basic Education classes in Dunkirk and Jamestown, as well as ESL classes and High School Equivalency preparation.

Also provided are job search assistance, vocational planning, labor market information, career counseling, and case management. * Offers workshops on such topics as Resume Writing, Cover Letter Writing, Interviewing, and Computers. * Offers training programs based on needs of the community and market. These Defensive Driving courses are approved by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles as a course provider under the Point and Insurance Reduction Program (PIRP). Drivers may be eligible to reduce as many as 4 points on your driving record. Principal owners of a vehicle until receive a miminimum of 10% reduction in the base rate of your auto or motor cycle liability and collision insurance premiums for 3 years.
