Dance workshop in partnership with Alvin Ailey Dance Museum provides ballet for youths ages 7-18, taught by artists from Alvin Ailey Dance Museum.

Offers programs such as International folk dancing and ballroom dancing.

Offers a wide range of instruction in the arts through group classes, private instruction, workshops, performances and collaborations with various outside groups. Offers an arts-based pre-K program, an affiliated before and after care program and a variety of private and group vocal and instrument classes, including offerings for special needs students in the music therapy department. Offers an incubator for creativity, research, education, performance and community connections. It operates as an independent center at Stony Brook University in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Center’s vision encompasses a drive to develop heightened interdisciplinary thinking and action, developed through the study of dance and movement arts, applied through art-making, innovation and performance of all kinds. Campers learn acting techniques, cultivate their singing voices and perfect dance skills.

Enables the district to provide residents with educational and recreational opportunities so that learning can be a lifelong pursuit. Courses are offered in Financial Planning, Personal Enrichment, Foundations of English, Fine Arts/Crafts, Culinary Arts and Health and Wellness. Courses vary each semester. Call for details.

Oversees 12 acres of park that include Softball fields, Little League fields, Tennis courts, Playground, All Children's Playground, picnic area, Handball Courts, Basketball Court, Skateboard Park, and Soccer/Football fields. Offers recreational programs for all ages including sports, dance, instructional, arts and crafts, bus trips, fitness and exercise and other activities. Programs change seasonally. The Center provides a wide array of classes in dance, music, fitness/wellness, theater, spoken word, computer arts technology and the visual arts. These classes are offered after school, evenings and weekends at our main site in midtown Kingston. A homework and tutoring center is also available. Programs include S.P.I.C.E, a year round project for low income women and their children (provides childcare at the center if needed to participate) with a special focus on women of color.

Offers a camp that is structured to meet the needs of dancers who desire exposure to a variety of dance styles, including jazz, pom, and hip-hop, with an emphasis on style, technical execution, flexibility, jumps, turns and performance. All dancers are evaluated by the staff and assigned to a level based on experience and skill. Instructors work hard to meet each campers’ individual needs. Teams are also welcome, as it is a great opportunity to work on routine building for the upcoming season. The camp utilizes the University’s state-of-the-art, air-conditioned facilities. Each camper should wear daily: cotton T-shirt, athletic shorts, and sneakers. Campers must also bring a water bottle. Bathing suit and towel will be needed on assigned swim days.
