Provides adult respite care for developmentally disabled individuals, age 21 and over, who reside in Suffolk/Nassau counties with their families. Limited geographic area may be eligible for transportation periodically. Universal medical application and site visit appointment required.

Offers a complimentary Caregivers Center that is here to support you. The Center is here to give you support, easy access to information, and a place to go rest, recharge, and regain your energy. At no cost to you. You can take a break and visit us; stay for a minute, or an hour; Have a chat; Share your experiences with other caregivers; meet with a Licensed Social Worker or just sit and have a quiet moment for yourself. In addition you can join our complimentary Caregivers Support Groups. All groups facilitated by a Licensed Social Worker and all groups will meet at Peconic Bay Medical Center. They are free to attend and all our welcome. Sample support groups include: Family Caregiver support groups, In-person support group for caregivers of a loved one with dementias and memory impairments; In-person general caregiver support group and bereavement support groups for family caregivers forming. Provides respite and support for families with children who are severely emotionally disturbed. It is designed to reduce family stress, reduce the incidence of hospitalization, and decrease the risk of child abuse. Services include evaluation, respite. family support groups, parenting skills group, tutoring, socialization, recreation, case management and a Parent Advocate.

Offers a weekend respite for campers with physical and developmental disabilities between ages 6-21 years old. Check in is Friday evening at 8pm and check out is Sunday at 3pm. Campers enjoy arts and crafts, music, games, movies, and walks in the woods. The program benefits parents by giving them a break from very demanding responsibilities as their child's caregiver. Provides 12 co-ed beds to youth in need of either a diagnostic evaluation, emergency placement, or a crisis/preventive respite stay. The youth are supervised 24 hours a day in a professionally staffed setting and are engaged in an academic program during the school year. Evaluations provided include psychological, psychiatric, psychosocial, and substance abuse risk assessments as needed.
