You will have access to more than 150 courses and many of the same degree programs we offer during weekdays and nights from liberal arts and accounting to business administration and criminal justice. Through Weekend College, a student may complete any of the following degree or certificate programs: AA or AS degree in Liberal Arts; AS degree in Accounting; AS degree in Business Administration; AS degree in Criminal Justice; Certificate in Paralegal Studies and HS Equivalency. Our Weekend College can also help you gain entrance into our exceptional nursing and allied health sciences programs or jump start your career in administrative business technology, interior or apparel design, or computer repair technology. Youth learn how to reduce stress and anxiety, manage emotions, improve social relationships, decrease school and test related anxiety, use positive self talk, understand triggers, and learn relaxation.

Offers a secondary school that empowers students to develop functional academic, personal, and pre-vocational skills. Our mission is to encourage independence and self-advocacy, and to prepare students to successfully transition from the school environment to post-school options. Skilled staff, in partnership with families, districts and the community, provides quality instruction and services to students. Diverse educational strategies, aligned with the Common Core Learning Standards, offer curriculum accessing real life settings, in conjunction with community-based education and work experiences. Together, these provide unique opportunities to enrich each student's education. The strength of the Brookhaven Learning Center lies in the integration of these dynamics which are designed to maximize opportunities so that each student can achieve his/her fullest potential. The Brookhaven Learning Center provides a continuum of services for students with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. Students participate in a modified New York State Curriculum with an emphasis on life skills. Serves students ages 12-21 in grades 7th-12th at the Middle School and Secondary Level. Classroom options are 8:1:1+4; 8:1:1+2; 8:1:1+3; 8:1:1 and .12:1:1. Students are classified as: Autism; Intellectual Disability; Traumatic Brain Injury; Multiple Disabilities and Other Health Impairment. Also offered is The Transition Services Program which provides a half or full day applied academics program, which emphasizes life and employability skills to students with mild to moderate developmental disabilities. By utilizing a variety of simulated and real-life settings students are prepared to transition from school to post-secondary outcomes. Included in the Transition Services Program is the Work Activities Center (WAC) for students sixteen to twenty-one, who meet established criteria, to have a volunteer work experience in the community under the direct supervision of a job coach.
