Includes explanation of the workings of the developing child/adolescent brain; handling anger; what parents can do to help their child succeed in school; and the importance of contributing to the family via chores. Parents learn positive, non-violent discipline techniques so they can avoid power struggles. Active Parenting First Five Years: For parents of children birth to 5 years old. Class consists of four virtual 2-hour sessions. Emphasis is placed on school readiness, brain development, brain building activities, mindfulness, and self-calming activities for parent and child.
