Provides a supportive, psycho-educational, skill development-based therapy group for parents and guardians of children of all ages who witnessed, experienced, or are at risk for various types of abuse (physical, emotional, sexual), in order to reduce the parents and guardians distress related to the child abuse experience, and to increase the parents and guardians protective abilities through increased knowledge about abuse and the impact of trauma, and the development and practice of parenting skills. This group serves families in which children have been identified as at risk for abuse and neglect, and for whom court-ordered parenting education has been recommended.

A Fulton County Public Health Nurse (PHN) will contact every new mother in the county to offer a home visit and to notify them of the services available for children and their families. The PHN will call you within a few days of your discharge from the hospital to ask how you and your baby are doing and answer any questions you may have. If you wish, she will come to your home to see you and your baby. She will bring information that covers many topics of baby and child care, will weigh your baby, and will demonstrate any baby care techniques you may not be sure of, like taking a temperature.
* Provides specialized obstetrical care for pregnant teenagers up to 19 years of age.Services include: Pregnancy testing and counseling. Medical care during and after your pregnancy. Group prenatal care/Center Pregnancy. Education and information about: Pregnancy. Nutrition. Labor and birth. Care of new baby. Birth control. Social work office information and referrals to connect with community resources. Support services offered: Social and behavioral health issues. Housing. Domestic violence and relationship issues. Parenting education. Medical care for the baby. A financial counselor is available to assist with establishing health insurance for the client and the baby.
