Provides professional sign language interpreters to meet the needs of persons with hearing impairments, whether social, medical, emergency, business, etc. Provides educational workshops to explain role of "professional interpreter" and concerns or issues related to hearing loss.We accept requests through phone, fax, email or mail. Please give as much notice as possible to allow STIC to get the most qualified interpreter available within the area. We highly suggest that you request an interpreter at least 10 days in advance. At times last minute requests and emergencies can be accommodated but due to the high volume of requests there is no guarantee.

Provides Spanish-speaking individuals with confidential interpretation in a variety of medical and mental health settings, such as intake interviews, medical counseling visits, exams, surgical procedures, and emergencies. Translates all forms and documents, including certificates, flyers/brochures, web sites, and personal, legal, health, corporate, and governmental documents. Provides case management for self-sufficiency promotion via help with paperwork, phone calls, appointment scheduling, housing assistance and referrals, family crisis intervention, document interpretation/translation, mediation, and community resource referrals. Employment assessment and placement, applying for social service benefits, and referrals are also offered.

Service staffed by bilingual individuals who help Spanish-speaking members of the community access the mental health care they need. Interpretation services are provided to ensure clear and accurate communication with mental health providers, including therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and more. Services are offered in partnership with CCMH, The Resource Center, and UPMC.

Educational program that coordinates multicultural support services for the Hispanic/Latino population of Buffalo and Erie County. Services include Counseling, Support Services, Interpretation, Food Pantry, Dinner Service, and Agape Support Group. Staff are completely bilingual and bicultural. ##REENTRY##
