Offers an after-school program and full day child care, during school vacations including the summer, for children ages 5-17 residing in the Town of Hempstead. Homework assistance is provided by volunteers with an emphasis on reading, expressive and receptive language skills, mathematics and concept development. Recreational activities and snacks are provided. Collaboration with local schools is encouraged by the program coordinator and bilingual staff. Older students (ages 13-17) may serve as program volunteers, translators or participate as interns in local businesses. On-site child care.

Offers a non-profit center located on the campus of Farmingdale State College. We provide a secure and stimulating environment for children from 8 weeks through prekindergarten. Priority is given to children of students, faculty and staff. Community children are also welcome to attend our center. At the Children's Center at Farmingdale State we use the Creative Curriculum for infants through Pre-school. This curriculum encompasses all areas of child development while incorporating all areas of early learning, (pre-writing, pre-math, pre-science, early literacy, music & movement). Teachers in the classroom are facilitators and nurturers, providing children with age appropriate activities, encouragement and support. Our Pre-K program provides children with the skills necessary for kindergarten. Our state of the art facility offers heated floors throughout the classrooms, and central air for the warm summer months. Offers three programs that focus on caring for children and enhance school readiness, Moms and Tots, DeKinder Preschool, Before and After School care.

Provides a warm a comfortable atmosphere where children can relax, socialize, complete homework or participate in a variety of stimulating and fun activities. Snack and transportation is provided daily.

After Kindergarten program. Before and after school programs. Includes supervised homework sessions and nutritious snacks.

Provide supervised care for school-age children prior to the beginning and/or following the end of the school day, on school holidays and teacher work/conference days, during school breaks and, in some cases, during the summer when school is not in session in situation where their parents are working or otherwise engaged. While some extended day care programs provide a variety of activities for children in the program, they are not designed to provide specialty instruction such as art or music lessons, or organized sports.

Venture Together offers a variety of respite programs to give families and caregivers flexible options including: One-on-one in-home care, After School Programs, Saturday Afternoon Program, School Vacation Programs and Summer Camp.

LEAP is a free Learning Enrichment After-School Program provided by Independent Living, Inc. that serves individuals with developmental disabilities from Newburgh and neighboring communities.

Offers after school child care. The program is located at Parkview and Fort Salonga Elementary Schools, Smithtown Elementary School, St James Elementary School, Branch Brook Elementary School, Accompsett School, Nesconset School, Dogwood School, Tackan School, Mt. Pleasant School, and Mills Pond School. Sponsored by Town of Smithtown.

The Child Care Resource and Referral provides information and referrals as well as training, advocacy, and education to meet the needs of children, families, businesses, and providers. Our offices are located in Elizabethtown and are open from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

ARC provides an after school program for children with developmental disabilities, in collaboration with the school districts, based on the school calendar.

Offered September through June, and takes place from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (hours may vary for high school programming). It consists of one hour of homework support (Power Hour), activities in arts and crafts, recreation, STEM, and social/emotional learning, along with Boys & Girls Club of America curricula (Triple Play, Smart Girls, Smart Kids, Healthy Habits, among others). Options for 3 and 5 days/week.

The Nanuet Family Resource Center runs several school age care programs within the district. At Miller School and Highview there is a before school and after school program for the students that attend school in each building.
