Child care and learning center combining a developmentally appropriate curriculum with an environment that encourages exploration, discovery, and independence for children with and without disabilities. NYS DSS day care license. Child care is provided from 18 months to 5 years, while before and after school care is available for children up to 12 years who attend the Maryvale schools. Each toddler and preschool classroom is staffed by an Early Childhood Specialist, a NY State Certified Special Education teacher, and 4 classroom aides. Children have the opportunity to attend weekly art, music, and gym classes. Art and gym classes are taught by NY State certified teachers. Music is provided by an accredited music therapist.
Provides children with fun, hands-on, engaging learning experiences that follow the interests of the children and promote pro-social skills. Learning experiences include opportunities for daily outdoor play, creative arts expression, math and science exploration, story time, dramatic play, block, and manipulative play. Creates rich and diverse experiences for child-directed, inquiry-based, and play-centered learning in both indoor and outdoor environments. Families are encouraged to be active participants in Center and classroom activities.
Provides constructive early learning experiences for infants, toddlers and preschoolers as well as after-school and summer enrichment for school-aged children. Trained, credentialed staff deliver nurturing care in safe and fun environment designed to support developmentally appropriate play, exploration and learning. Breakfast, lunch and a snack are provided each day.
Provides a licensed day care center for children with a focus on intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and physical growth in each child, within their individual capabilities. Morning day care is available for school age children with school bus pick-up. Also offers school age care for summer and longer school vacations. Care includes nutritious meals and snacks.

They maintain an adult to child ratios that meet or exceed the requirements set by the New York State Department of Social Services and serve breakfast, lunch and snacks according to New York State Department of Health nutritional requirements. The centers are Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Offers a non-profit center located on the campus of Farmingdale State College. We provide a secure and stimulating environment for children from 8 weeks through prekindergarten. Priority is given to children of students, faculty and staff. Community children are also welcome to attend our center. At the Children's Center at Farmingdale State we use the Creative Curriculum for infants through Pre-school. This curriculum encompasses all areas of child development while incorporating all areas of early learning, (pre-writing, pre-math, pre-science, early literacy, music & movement). Teachers in the classroom are facilitators and nurturers, providing children with age appropriate activities, encouragement and support. Our Pre-K program provides children with the skills necessary for kindergarten. Our state of the art facility offers heated floors throughout the classrooms, and central air for the warm summer months.
