Rabies Immunization Clinics sponsored by CCDOH for pet dogs, cats and ferrets are for individual or family pet owners. The annual schedule of clinics includes several locations in the county, including town halls, as well as on the agency website. There is no charge for vaccination services for county residents, although donations are accepted. Breeders must use their own veterinarian for rabies vaccinations and are not eligible for vaccinations through the free clinics. Dogs must be leashed and cats and ferrets must be enclosed in an appropriate pet carrier.
Conducts a monthly affordable spay and neuter clinic for cats. Also sponsors voucher program to offset the cost of spaying and neutering cats and dogs at participating area vets. Each voucher may be applied to only one cat or dog and is based on eligibility determined by the participating veterinarian. Priority is given to: low-income households disabled individuals elderly residents farmers individuals caring for stray or feral catsInformation on rabies clinics.

NYS Public Health Law requires that all puppies and kittens get their first rabies shot at 3 months of age. They also need to get a booster shot at 1 year old, and again every three years.
Offers regularly scheduled rabies clinics throughout the county for cats, dogs and ferrets. Also provides information and follow up for humans or pets that have experienced an animal bite or possible rabies exposure. If bitten by or encountered a wild or domestic animal that could have rabies, call Public Health or seek health care.
Provides shelter for stray, homeless, abused and abandoned animals. Also provides cremation services,offers and promotes animal adoptions and handles complaints of cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. Seeking donations of food and animal care products.

Offers regularly scheduled rabies clinics throughout the county for cats, dogs and ferrets. Also provides information about rabies and animal bites/exposures. Clinics are provided in cooperation from the Chemung County SPCA and Health Department. Takes and responds to reports of rabid animals and bites. If bitten, scratched or have had contact with the saliva of an animal that is believed rabid, wash the wound immediately and contact a health care provider. If treatment is recommended, call immediately to determine where treatment should be received. If there is any chance of exposure to a bat through an inapparent bite, for example, a bat had direct contact with someone, or was in a room with a sleeping individual call immediately to discuss the situation.
Provides education for public awareness of the humane treatment and care of all animals and the specific responsibilities of companion animal guardianship. Provides spay/neuter, rabies vaccination and other clinics. Provides a facility to house stray and unwanted animals in a manner which shall sustain their health and welfare. Aims to prevent human rabies via the testing of suspect animals, the rabies vaccination of pets, the monitoring of biting animals, the monitoring of animals exposed to rabies, and the rabies vaccination of persons with known or suspected rabies exposure.
Provides rabies information, monitoring, and vaccinations available to those who own pets, and or those who have been exposed or potentially exposed with an animal suspected of having rabies.
Provides immunizations to the public. Also monitors instances of rabies by investigating possible cases, and vaccinating those who have come in contact with the virus.

Provides a wide variety of services essential to the health and well-being of all Genesee County Residents. Service areas include public water supply protection, community sanitation and food protection, private water and sewage disposal systems, realty subdivision plan review, public health nuisances, residential lead investigations, chemical emergencies, rabies investigations, and enforcement of both the Adolescent Tobacco Use and Prevention Act (ATUPA) and the NYS Clean Indoor Air Act (CIAA). The Environmental Health division also operates multiple anti-rabies immunization clinics annually to administer vaccines to domestic animals, including cats, dogs, and ferrets, in order to reduce the spread of the potentially life threatening disease.

DBCH offers information and public awareness of rabies. Also provides the preventive vaccines for domestic pets, and post exposure vaccines to people. If anyone suspects an animal is rabid, contact the Department of Health or the local police department immediately.
Provides information about Rabies and how to prevent an infection in both animals and people. Also offers rabies vaccination clinics in various locations throughout the county.
DBCH offers information and public awareness of rabies. Also provides the preventive vaccines for domestic pets, and post exposure vaccines to people. If anyone suspects an animal is rabid, contact the Department of Health or the local police department immediately.
* Provides rabies prevention including pet vaccination clinics.

* Assists with the treatment of rabies by administering follow up injections of the vaccination in the weeks following exposure. Initial treatment must take place in a hospital emergency room.
Inspects local restaurants, public swimming pools, children's camps, tests drinking water, investigates animal bites and vaccinates pets.
