Scheduled visits of pets to schools, nursing homes, hospitals and other groups. * Provides a Spay/neuter incentive fund for low income households. * Offers an Adult Companion Program. Provides pet companionship to older adults, the Humane Society will match up cats and dogs. * Provides animals available for adoption and foster care opportunities.

Provides shelters to stray dogs and cats, and owned animals thoughout Schenectady County and offers them up for adoption. Offers a pet guardian program for victims of domestic violence in conjunction with the YMCA.

Provides adoption services for animals that have been staying in temporary foster homes. Offers home-to-home adoptions for pet owners who need to find new homes for their pets.

Offer shelters, respite care, adoption and other services for companion animals and even certain farm animals to persons who are victims of domestic violence.

Provides shelter service for stray, homeless, abused and abandoned animals within the City of Elmira. Offers and promotes low-cost animal adoptions. Hosts low-cost spay/neuter clinics for the public. Also investigates complaints of cruelty, neglect, and abandonment. All complaints are kept confidential, and can be made anonymously.

* Provides a municipal animal resource center for at-risk animals that are homeless, injured, or pose imminent public safety concerns within the Rochester City limits.* Provides lost and found pet reunification and pet rehoming services. * Addresses city ordinances regarding companion animals with information sharing, supportive services, and enforcement.* Offers free pet services including pet food and supplies, vaccinations, identification tags, microchips, spay and neuter surgeries, wellness exams, and community veterinary care. All adopted animals receive a certificate for one free veterinary examination.* Provides temporary housing via foster homes for pets of households in crisis. Animal adoptions at the Chenango SPCA include vaccinations and de-worming (age appropriate), Feline Leukemia test for cats, Flea Preventative Treatment, a free bag of Hills Science Diet Food (dogs/cats only), 30-day free pet health insurance (some conditions required), a free pet health exam from a participating veterinarian, micro-chipped and a pet ID tag. Adoptions are friendly and require a simple application.
