CAT SHELTER | PROJECT CAT

Accepts stray and surrendered cats for care and adoption, and respond to dire situation, including outdoor breeding colonies and hoarding situations. Also offers advice and suggestions to those surrendering a cat. Limited funding is available for spaying/neutering. Transportation may also be available for those who do not have access on their own. Donations from the website "wish list" are always accepted.

Provides a food pantry for Veterans, the Military and their families, and families in need. LI Cares hosts Military Appreciation Tuesdays in Huntington Station, Lindenhurst, and Freeport which gives veterans and their families access to food, personal care items, household products, pet food, and school supplies. Also veterans are provided with information and resources pertaining to veteran special benefits. LI Cares also operates a Mobile Pantry which delivers nutritious groceries to homebound, disabled veterans unable to access their local pantries.

SMITHTOWN ANIMAL SHELTER AND ADOPTION CENTER | SMITHTOWN ANIMAL SHELTER AND ADOPTION CENTER

Provides care for lost, stray and surrendered animals for the residents of Smithtown. Reunites lost animals with their owners and finds new homes for the unclaimed and relinquished pets. Enforces the animal control laws of the township and of the NYS Department of Agriculture. Responds to residents' complaints regarding stray, vicious, injured, barking, or owned loose dogs as well as sick or injured wildlife. Surrendered and unclaimed dogs and cats are available for adoption by either Town or non-residents.

Angel Action Division - Community Action for Wyoming County

Offers support services to community members in financial crisis, including provision of food, pet food, clothing, household items, medical equipment exchange, limited prescription assistance, and medical transportation assistance. Other services include a monthly Mobile Food Pantry (open to anyone), budgeting assistance/financial education, and more. Will work to meet other needs where support is not available in the community. Provides backpacks filled with school supplies each year to low income children, K-6th grade, while supplies last. Supplies are given out at the Cornerstone Building located at 204 North Main Street in Perry, NY; call 585-237-2600 for questions. Donations accepted and volunteer opportunities available. The Angel Action Holiday Christmas Program provides clothing and gifts for children of all ages through a shopping event open to parents and grandparents.
