Also facilitates the Mayor's Summer reading Challenge and Summer Youth Employment program.

* Provides youth with six weeks of paid work experience through work sites and programs across Monroe County. The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is a government-funded program operated by RochesterWorks in collaboration with the City of Rochester's Operation Transformation Rochester (OTR) Summer of Opportunity Program (SOOP).
Offers the opportunity for youth to learn and refine valuable workplace skills by participating in subsidized work experience opportunities and work readiness workshops for approximately 20-25 hours per week from July to mid-August.
Young people-adolescents and young adults- are The Learning Web's reason for being. Assisting young people on their journey to adulthood is our mission: We connect them with an adult role model who helps them learn how to live on their own, while helping them evolve into valued members of our community, combining apprenticeships with mentoring in a range of services that include employment and life skills training, and supervised housing in a program for homeless youth. Through these programs, our participants have developed valuable skills that support them them as their transition into the adult world.

Youth Summer Camp: Six-week program in July and August with safe, fun-filled activities for ages 4 to 10, including free dinners for participants. Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm. A 6 week summer youth employment program designed for teenagers, ages 14-21, to build life skills while growing food for the community. Once youth complete a summer season, they can work with VINES in the fall and spring.
