The Vocational Centers offer job opportunities for individuals to develop and improve the skills necessary to meet their goals for employment. The Center focuses on soft skills development such as acceptance of supervision, following directions, attention to task, co-worker relationships, job completion and time management.

Assists men and women with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn and develop work and social skills through participation in day habilitation without walls. Supported employment services provided through OPWDD, ETP and ACCES-VR. Referral required, Call to schedule an appointment.

This service is for adults with disabilities including: standardized assessment, specialized assessment, work site evaluation, community based assessments, work readiness. Prevocational services are offered through community pre-vocational services for the IDD, the Jawonio Thrift Shop at our Yonkers location and Connections/Pre-Employment Program for the behavioral health challenged in our Yonkers locations. In addition, Jawonio has offered grant funded green cleaning training programs in Rockland and Westchester.

Provides assessment, job development and job coaching services to adults with developmental disabilities including autism. Assists in obtaining and maintaining employment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Employment support service. Includes on and off site job coaching. The Employment Connection, a division of UCP of Long Island , assists individuals with developmental disabilities and those with acquired physical disabilities to meet their career goals. Assists job seekers with employment assessment, training, job placement and job support.

Employment Support Services include person-centered vocational supports in a variety of settings, developing skills and good work habits as a way of increasing independence and assisting individuals to become productive and contributing members of the community. Personal growth and a sense of self-worth are achieved and enhanced. Adults with developmental disabilities may be able to earn income while working to achieve their maximum potential. A wide range of services and supports are offered including exploration of career interests, job readiness programs, and in some cases, a more directly supported work environment.

Provides employment support services for adults with developmental disabilities to enhance independence by improving work skills, teaching them to follow instructions, attend and complete tasks, problem solve, workplace safety, communication and quality control. There is employment placement and support services through sub-contracting or gaining employment with a local business. Offers a number of programs designed to meet the needs of children with developmental disabilities and their caregivers. Offers short term career training programs focusing on employment skills and placement services for visually impaired individuals. Both online and in-house courses are available which focus on computer skills, customer service skills, telecommunications, and work readiness. Emphasis is placed on computer skills including Microsoft Office, Assistive Technology, and hands on experiential learning. Also provides employment services including resume development, interviewing skills training, career counseling, and job search/placement support. Program is open Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4pm in-house; specific course hours will vary, or be available as online offerings.

Provides a variety of services in home and community based settings to assist with improving the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families via OPWDD and OMH. Supports include respite, community habilitation, recreation, after school programming, summer programming, broker services, early intervention services, children's mental health services, intensive parent training, children's health homes, and employment services.

This is an exciting and challenging program designed to build community and strengthen peer leadership skills in teens. Activities are crafted for success and achievement, require full participation and promote improved decision making, problem solving, and communication skills. The program's goal is to work with young people who are struggling to overcome difficult situations, and guide them toward higher education and purposeful employment. Participants attend one of the three, 3-week summer sessions and then attend weekend activities at camp during the school year. Teen's families also participate in the program, during weekends in the spring and fall. Activities include camping, canoeing, high ropes, peer group counseling, learning basic work skills, and local community service projects.
