Provides career training such as construction skills, OSHA training, sewing and design, job counseling, interview preparation, etc.

Encourages youth to establish a good work ethic through employment and workshops. Promotes punctuality, teamwork, how to follow rules and regulations, as well as respect of self, co-workers and supervisors. At- risk youth are selected between the ages of 14-18. Interviews are held in May and orientation in June. Employment is seven weeks, Monday-Friday. Worksites are established within the community at local churches, schools, agencies, parks and beaches. Workshops are given throughout the program in areas such as Banking, Job Attitudes, Career Goals, Job Interviewing and Resume Writing. Upon completion of the program is an Awards Lunch where every youth receives an award. Call for further information.

New York State Commission for the Blind's (NYSCB) Business Enterprise Program (BEP) offers opportunities for individuals who are blind to gain the training and skills necessary to manage one of several vending facilities located in Federal and state office buildings throughout the state. After completing an intensive training program, BEP managers become proficient in all aspects of retail management including purchasing products, controlling inventory, marketing products, maintaining good customer relations, and keeping accurate records.

The Youth Services Program provides employment skills development which includes how to write a resume, prepare for an interview, time management and conflict resolution. This program also includes a job match service that provides information about jobs available in the local community and support services for the students and adults who care for (and about) them. This program is located at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and Scotia-Glenville High Schools and the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Community Human Services building.

Provides services to individuals with disabilities to search for, obtain, and maintain a job within the community through skill building and supportive services.

Offers a variety of opportunities for employment. Career Options provides job readiness, skill assessment, diagnostic vocational evaluation, résumé development, career counseling, job development, on the job training, and follow up services. The Vocational Centers offer job opportunities for individuals to develop and improve the skills necessary to meet their goals for employment. The Center focuses on soft skills development such as acceptance of supervision, following directions, attention to task, co-worker relationships, job completion and time management.

Employment Services model utilizes an employment developer to assist with job placement and a job-coach who provides support to the people in the form of job-site training, on-going assessment and follow-along for as long as necessary in order for the people to maintain employment.

Offers job training and support services through the work center with an assessment and building practical job skills, and under supervision the participants work and get paid for a variety of services. There is also training in janitorial, greenhouse/horticultural or customer service.

Provides access to job database individuals with visual impairments or other physical disabilities, offers counseling for displaced homemakers, people with disabilities, those in transition or "beginning again" situations. Also services include basic skills training and remediation, GED preparation, youth competency, work experience, occupational/vocational training, on-the-job training and customized training for eligible employers. A variety of computer classes are also available.

Offers labor market information regarding unemployment insurance including the process of filing claims, answers to inquiries regarding existing claims, information regarding job training programs, including those funded by the WIA (Workforce Investment Act), the Older Americans Act, the Senior Community Employment Opportunity Program, the Perkins Act, and the Federal Unemployment Tax Act. Provides information regarding programs for education and training, and referrals to local resources. Provides job search assistance, use of Resource Room which includes personal computers, job banks, resume software, a photocopier, fax machine, telephone bank, workstations, instructional videos, and a listing of employer job orders in the job bank. Provides help to individuals who have been diagnosed with mental health conditions and have had difficulty obtaining or maintaining competitive employment. The program assists people in finding employment, of their choice, in the community. Staff provide on or off-site job coaching and support to ensure that once employed, a person can learn the job duties, feel comfortable in the work environment, and have supportive relationships with supervisors and co-workers. When the person and the employer feel the employment situation is stable, an employment specialist can provide ongoing support.

The work readiness program through CORE pairs individuals with staff who can help strengthen their resume with vocational classes, certifications, career exploration, resume preparation, and mock interviews.
