This program helps eligible, disadvantaged youth with employment, and earn up to $900 to cover expenses if they get training from an authorized NY Youth Works provider. Also this program encourages businesses to hire disadvantaged adolescents and young adults.
**During the COVID pandemic, the EOC switchboard is staffer part time from 7:30am - 1pm Mon-Fri with no voicemail option. If you are unable to reach a staff member, please call back during the hours indicated. ** Offers a comprehensive year round program including participation in local youth councils and a County-wide youth council. Summer programs include youth employment, leisure time and recreational/cultural activities. Also offers a Martial Arts Program, career explorations, Martin Luther King Scholarship which is given annually to deserving students, and the Kearse Soccer Clinic. Year round individual and family counseling offered. Tutorial and homework assistance is also available as well as workshops on substance prevention, underage drinking, teenage pregnancy, and HIV/AIDS.

Provides help to individuals who have been diagnosed with mental health conditions and have had difficulty obtaining or maintaining competitive employment. The program assists people in finding employment, of their choice, in the community. Staff provide on or off-site job coaching and support to ensure that once employed, a person can learn the job duties, feel comfortable in the work environment, and have supportive relationships with supervisors and co-workers. When the person and the employer feel the employment situation is stable, an employment specialist can provide ongoing support.
